Broken CCC Need Help
So Last week i started up my car (2006 325xi with nav) in the morning and the screen boots to the BMW screen then cuts/fades out and starts the boot sequence again.
The car still does all the normal chimes and still have everything right on the dash (millage, trip, temp, clock, service info). The car is not throwing any codes that i can see. i have tried resetting the CCC by pressing knob and eject buttons (i was able to eject nag dvd) and i have tried disconnecting the negative cable overnight. neither have worked. The car has 146k miles on it, and frankly is not worth it to me to spend $2k to get fixed at BMW. I am in the process of buying a house and cannot buy a new car until i have been moved in for several months. so i have to make what i have work for another 6-12 months with spending as little as possible so money can be saved for new car. So what are my options? right now i am using headphones which sucks 1) buy used CCC for $650, install myself and then pay BMW to recode for my car? -will bmw recode a used unit? -can this be remotely coded? about how much $? -how hard to code myself? how much $ in hardware/software? 2) Install aftermarket headunit. I already have an older head unit from another car and i would be willing to do without navigation - any good DIY guides? -what functionality will be lost -how hard is this really, not a lot of people doing this Any other options i am not seeing. Remember i am looking for the cheapest decent solution to still have audio to listen to the radio. Please don't suggest boom box in passenger seat or headphones Thanks in advance for any help, i am pretty desperate here as i have a long commute everyday to work that has been very boring lately |

Im sorry but you must of misunderstood my questions as i am not looking to replace the front display on my radio.
I really just want to know what my options are to get the radio back in my car. I called BMW yesterday and they want 1300-1400 to replace the CCC unit and recode. Money is super tight right now and i am tired of listen to my iPod with my headphones. I do have experience installing stereos in other cars, so i would like to see how possible it is in this car (E90 HiFi with navigation). i don't need anything fancy just would like to be able to listen to the radio through the speakers. Can someone help me out here with my options? Thanks ahead of time |

and pro radios. beckerautosound I thought you would be able to tell by actually reading the threads. He is also pretty close to you. How hard would it be for you to call him and find out. Replacing a CCC is very difficult because of the amount of integration with the rest of the car. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 I have never seen people go from OEM Nav to aftermarket here. If they have no Nav they go aftermarket. Last edited by ctuna; 07-03-2014 at 11:54 PM.. |

Very nice
Did you relocate the Nav(CCC) for maintenance or is that a concern for you at this point. (can you plug it in if you have to go to BMW) |
