its under Radio Menu, satellite radio. go to chan 187( I think) and theres a phone number to call. If you dont see in it the Radio Menu then its not enabled or installed. ><! there should also be a card in your owners books that has the info on it, hope this helps!

No credit card needed. The service down loads the activation code. My client advisor helped me set mine up.

I'm glad it doesn't come setup when you purchase. I hate the harassing phone calls and auto renewal bullshit the satellite radio providers use.

My CA set mine up for me the day I picked it up as well as the BMW services. They will still harass you if you set it up after the fact. If you don't set it up at all they will probably still harass you as you have SAT radio enabled car and a subscription pending I had to move and change all of my contact information before they stopped bugging me once I cancelled my service years ago. I am enjoying it now though. Maybe because its free. The price has doubled since the last time I had it!

this is my response from my BMW Genius

Hello, on your idrive screen select satellite then press on the OPTION button, it will then take you to another set of functions. Scroll down and select manage subscription, select that option. If you see a set of ESN# that means you have 1 year free subscription, if you do please call the phone# provided using a phone that is not yet pair to your bmw car otherwise the signal will interfere with the satellite update. Be sure you are at an open area not in a garage, carport or parking structure. Please call tomorrow because at this time they are unable to activate your ESN. Good luck.

I have seen people being able to code so the satellite radio actually shows up on the idrive screen and comes with a 1 year subscription. Usually between $200 and $300 to get it going.

Should already be there. All cars come prewired for xm. Once its coded in you should be able to grab it from the satellite radio menu.
