They are very pretty calipers and rotors, but the benefit is far outweighed by the cost on track. On the street, I've read reviews saying ceramics don't have the same bite as "old fashioned" brakes when cold. They do keep your wheels much cleaner though, and would last quite a while with only street driving.

$8K is too steep for me, but I'm sure there are others who can justify it.

This has been discussed enough to make my head spin, but since there are no real world tests and comparisons yet I'm hoping that within a year we will all know how well the CCB's hold up to track use compared to the steel. I am currently on the fence since I track my current car about 12 days a year and not sold on the benefits vs cost when compared to steel.

Too bad we don't have 2 drivers (one steel and one CCB) that want to have fun at the track together for about 20 days for the sake of science..

I also read in my Warranty Booklet that CCB are NOT covered by the maintenance plan. Since I don't really track my car, I am glad I don't have them.

I would have loved to get them, but I just couldn't justify the added expense.

I've decided that investing in the M3 I want the max performance I can get and will track it so it's a yes for me.

High praise for the sanity demonstrated by the low take rate on the CSiC system.

The racers have better ones, the rest of us order them for the looks, and some of us like I just don't see the point. I don't use brakes, it wastes fuel.

I cannot afford them. It would be nice to have the reduced unsprung weight.

It looks like 3 out of 4 of us are getting the standard brakes so far, pretty much what I was expecting. CCB = overkill on the street.

looks to be pretty consistent - about 25% CCB. my guess is that the non-forum car buyers will be materially less - maybe 10% will get CCB.

That's pretty confirmed to me.
K don't have access to warranty booklet was asking if someone could post. My CA said it was covered.

Just need documentation to confirm as this might change my order and I would remove the CCBs.

Although sounds like my order would still be delayed due to other part shortages that would affect my order (led and full leather)

I was curious why there is so many non ccb Ms. Is CCB really an overkill for street? I would think for re-sell value it's worth it.
