Stop/start fuel saving or starter renewal?

Hi all-have done a quick search but could not find an answer, would you rather save a few pence in fuel per journey with the car stop/starting or pay out for a new starter more often?-can stop start be turned off permanently?-thanks I have a 58 plate e93
