Not sure M4 or Porsche 997.1 turbo 2010

I order the M4 since March and my dealer told me 4 weeks ago the the car will be in September so I'm very upset. Since then I have been looking Porsche turbo 2010. 90k. I don't know what to do if wait for M4 or get the 997 turbo now. Never has a Porsche before.

My dads 997.1 Dyno'd 408 AWHP bone stock.

So similar stock numbers to this motor, and i believe they are around the same weight.

I bet this car handles better than a stock 997.1 turbo.

The thing is that the mod potential of the 997.1 is bonkers. My fathers car has an exhaust and a tune, and the power is brutal when those turbos spool. So he probably has close to 500 AWHP right now. The sky is the limit with the motor though. You can get like 650 HP on stock turbos, upgrade the turbos and you can make 800 hp.

they do have a good aftermarket, but they are expensive as HELL to mod

1) tunes are 3k plus
2) you NEED a new clutch with a tune (2500-3000)
3) you NEED a HFC exhaust with a tune (2500-4500)
4) this applies to the 997.1 which is 2007-2009

The suspension is not nearly as well sorted as more modern cars like the m3. The m3 will be just as quick stock for stock in a straight line and will handle better.

I owned a 997.1tt and I would never consider one over an m3/4.

997.2 with PDK are faster, but the PDK calibration sucks and its also much more expensive at around 100k. The suspension still isn't that well sorted.

I prefer the 997 gt3 WAY more despite being slower. That, is an awesome car. Though I would never own any 911 for a DD and would never own an m3/4 for a second car so to me, they aren't really in comparison........

All truth, tunes are expensive as hell. We didnt get a new clutch though. Tune and exhaust (EVOMsit tune and Tubi Exhaust) was like 7500.

Modding anything seems extremely expensive these days. 10k wheel/tire combos (HRE) and 6k exhausts (Akra).
