18" preferred?
I really like the stock 18"s on the M3/M4. I actually think they look so "bad ass" with that racing side wall.
Is it true that they would offer a better performance on the track than 19"s? If any of you guys want to sell your 18"s, let me know. Will happily get a set to have a spare one. |

If the outside diameter of the assembled wheel/tire combo is smaller on the 18's then the engine will have more mechanical advantage. People may argue stiffer sidewall on lower profile tires but I'm not sure about that. |

it would only make sense that they will perform better... less weight, less rotational mass, etc.
the question is will it even be worth it to bimmer folks that most likely will NEVER take their car to the track? |

It was worth it to me because of ride quality and there are places on the moon with less potholes than I have.

When I initially placed my order in February, I had the 18's for a good two months on file. I caved in the end and went with the silver 19's mainly because of BMW's marketing with them basically only having 19's on all the press cars and auto show cars. I just ended up loving the look on the car. The 18's are a tad too small for this car astatically speaking IMO, but I will end up getting 18's anyway for my winters (just not the OEM ones).
