E90 LCI electric seat install

Hi Gents,

My friend has a E90 LCI 2011 320D but he has non sport seats that are not heated. They are killing his back as they are not very supportive at all ( i agree )

We have found some e90 Msport seats on the bay but there all electric, he would like to at least have heated seats even if converted to manual but ideally all electric.

What can we do, is it a hard install? he would be purchasing the seats from a e90 335I that has all the looms etc so what does he need.

Sorry I am sure done to death but this has been searched for but all posts are from 2008 etc.

Cheers
Ross

Couple of things to look at:

- airbag. LCI seats have some sort of airbag in the headrest, pre-lci do not. Therefore you will need lci seats.

- I think for electric seat install, all you need is a 12v supply (and fuse) to power them. Remember someone doing it on here to oem spec. If they have memory then you're in to more work which probably isn't worth it.

- heated seats. You can get the button panel easily enough. Doubt it would be too much of a tricky job.

The above might be a bit vague but hopefully gives you an idea! Good luck.

There are guides for these in the DIY section. I used one to fit my msport seats but they're only electric bolsters so very simple. Fully electric heated seats look a bit of a pain to be honest.

I have done it on my E90 and recently on E91.
It is pain in the bum and took me 8-10 hours both time.

Most demanding retrofit IMHO.
