Help With Major Issue!!!

Can anyone help me out with this idling issue that is causing me to have limp mode active?

The bouncing only happens when I press the brake pedal. After that if I let off the brake the car starts to sputter and run bad.

I'm about to plug it in to inpa but I need more help. Thanks to whoever chimes in!

a) how long ago did this start?
b) is it consistent, every time you turn on the car?
c) what is the last major maintenance you did?
d) let us know what codes you can pull with INPA.

a) started 3 days ago when I attempted to install the jb4 pinout. install went fine. After install was in limp mode. since then i have uninstalled pinout and put it back to stock.
b) it's consistent for as long as i want to run the car which hasnt been long because i dont like running it in limp mode
c) last major maintenance was coolant flush (replaced my whole radiator) and an oil change im at 100k miles
d) trying to recover my old version of inpa that worked perfect (dad wiped the computer)

That has to be more than a coincidence. Unfortunately, I installed the COBB so I have no experience with JB4 (main reason i stayed away was i didnt want to mess with the DME).

WARNING - twisted JB4 DME cables can cause limp mode!

Maybe you just need to go back and double check the wires? Sorry man, GL. just throwing ideas out. Oh yeah, see what's up with reading the codes if you can and let us know.

You should have mentioned that little detail in your original post. Chances are you either have a subconnector reversed, misaligned, or bent a pin. If you reversed a subconnector during the JB4 install and then went back to stock, that subconnector is probably still reversed.

you hit it right on the nail with the bent pin! I was taking everything apart to double check all of the wires being in their correct position and I noticed the pin was pushed down into the DME. Grabbed a pair of needle nose pliers, pulled the pin up, put it back together and it runs like a babe.

THANKS

Nice! Glad it's solved. So you put the jb4 back on now that you figured it out?
