Garnet Leader
In fact, my car will be - in a few hours. My Audi A3 will be loading in Emden on 6/21, arriving in San Diego on 7/17.
The Garnet Leader has just arrived in Emden two hours ago - came from Bremerhaven, where she loaded all the BMWs. The vessel left Bremehaven about 6 hours late, early morning of 6/20. |

Tracking
I used this link:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/det...:GARNET_LEADER Unfortunately this only works close to coasts - satellite tracking costs money But the current schedule says it will be arriving at the Panama canal around July 8th, 14:00 UTC |

How long does it take to go from Panama Canal to Port Hueneme?
Edit: so from what I understand, if everything goes well, the ship will be at the canal on July 8th. It should take a day or so to get through (depending on how busy the canal is). After that it should take about a week to get to Hueneme which is in the ballpark of the estimated July 18th. Hopefully it will clear customs and get through VDC quickly. I'm expecting the car to be delivered to the dealer by the 25th-30th of July. Last edited by BMW F22; 06-29-2014 at 02:40 PM.. |

Optimist !?
The Garnet Leader is supposed to unload my Audi in San Diego on 7/17, so give it a day or so and it would be in Oxnard/Hueneme by 7/18.
We took European delivery on our X3 in 2007 and it took about 10 days for the car to make it from the ship to the Dealer. The expected date for my A3 to arrive in Palo Alto is the first week of August - I assume (hope) that is a conservative estimate. |

Just now passed through Panama Canal
This afternoon the Garnet Leader passed through Panama Canal.
So she is on schedule - Garnet Leader is the smaller vessel in front, the other one is the MARINA ACE, another vessel carrying a lot of cars. Last edited by m210658; 07-08-2014 at 10:53 PM.. |

I just found out today my car is on the Garnet Leader!
What's annoying is that I live in San Diego, which is the first port of call on the West Coast, but I'm pretty sure I'll still have to wait the extra day for it to sail up to Port Hueneme. If it takes two days to get through the VDC (is that realistic?), then gets transported down to San Diego on July 21, I estimate I could have it by July 22. All my CA has been able to tell me so far is that it's looking good for the "fourth week of July".

My 435GC
My car is taking the same Cruise. I hope it enjoyed the trip and didn't get damaged.
The Garnet Leader is on the West Coast soon to passing Mexico/US border and I expect it will dock early tomorrow morning but its not scheduled to port until the 18th. http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...elSchedule.pdf Can't wait! Last edited by Smiller155; 07-16-2014 at 04:13 PM.. |

Someone said that his SA told him that his car would arrive at the dealership in Mountain View on Monday or Tuesday. Seems optimistic to me, but its certainly possible. Let's hope his SA is right!

One thing to keep in mind is whether or not a car was Euro Delivered, which mine is. ED cars would take longer to go through customs because it is not a brand new car. It would be pretty awesome if it gets here next week though! |

Mine is not ED this time so maybe I'll get lucky.
Btw, the Garnet Leader is moored in the San Diego Harbor right now. Then it's off to Port Huename tomorrow. |

For those of us who didn't do European Delivery, hopefully the car at least gets through customs before the weekend.
