It's really a crapshoot--you can't compare the wear ratings between tire brands. It has a lot to do with the type of driving you do (city, highway), how aggressive you are, and at what amount of wear you replace your tires. Most people replace tires before they're legally worn out because they get twitchy in the rain before the tread depth reaches the legal limit...

Generally, summer tires don't last as long as all-seasons. Ballpark estimate, based on what I remember hearing people getting on E46's: 10,000-25,000 miles until you want to replace the sport package tires, 20,000-40,000 miles for the all-seasons.

I've seen people with well over 50000 on their first set of allseasons. Performance tires are as soft as erasers, and they are affected way more by aggressive driving. I knew one E46 owner who went through Z rated tires every 8,000 miles!!

yea definatly ! basicly, Summer tires wear faster then all-seasons in general, but alot has to do with your personal driving style, you can wear out summer tires in 8000 miles easily (i average about 10-12k miles on a tire or you can stretch a summer tire out to 30k miles if you drive more conservatively.

Yes, summer tires perform better in rain and in the wet, compared to all-seasons. Winter tires generally perform better in the snow, compared to all-seasons. You don't want to know how summer tires perform in the snow.

so if i dont track the car or speed around corners, I should think about the all-season tires then. the car is just a daily driver car.
