2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus

Just got the car delivered last week and I have to say it’s better than I even thought! The black on black with all factory carbon options looks so sick in person and the fit/finish on the interior is so good. Driving experience is phenomenal! It turns and handles like it’s on rails, brakes like you pulled a parachute (carbon ceramic) and accelerates quick for a 100% stock car. Launch control works well and it leaves hard at 4K rpm! Only bad thing I can really say about it is the lack of storage space, which is fine with me lol.

There’s only a few cosmetic changes it needs imo and Ive already got them done...ceramic coat, tint windows, tint side marker lights, oem gloss black emblems, black out gas cover, refinish the steering wheel in alcantara and lower it but I’m kinda on the fence, which is a first. I’m also thinking about changing the calipers from the silver it came with to yellow so it matches the interior stitching and pops from behind the black wheels. Power wise it feels good at the 610bhp it came with, but that’s not going to work for me lol. I’m going to have sheepey race build the car and do a custom twin turbo kit, flex fuel system, Dodson clutches and a motec stand-alone ecu that leaves the car capable of 800whp on 91 octane up to 1300whp on e85!! Here’s a few pics of how it sits currently and everything is done cosmetically except for the steering wheel as I’m waiting for it to be built...I love this thing!

Gorgeous. Not that it's super relevant out in Norcal, but I know a couple guys on the UGR crew. Used to rent a shop from one of them.

Question though, why is the redline at 6000...? I know these things rev way out.

I've definitely never noticed it... Either I'm not observant enough, or the dang red lines are so dim I can't see em. I'll take a gander next time.

wow congrats. I dont think alot of you guys understand that a sheepey race TT setup is roughly the cost of new M3 at $60k+

im usually all for NA but I make an exception for the TT huracans and R8s. they sound meannnn and you retain the high redline. win win. Whats the plans for the car ? highway racing ? 1/2 mile events?

Thanks! Turbos will really make the r8 a supercar with hypercar horsepower and at heart I’m a horsepower junkie. The v10 sounds is so damn awesome, shift blips sound so good too!

Ugr is one of the more well known companies with r8/hurrican twin kits, however they are about twice as expensive for the exact same work due to their name and demand. They build fast ass cars for sure, but sheepey race is equally as good, just not asknown, yet.

Cold start redline as someone mentioned...our m’s do the same thing, funny you never noticed haha

Looks great! Where in NorCal are you?

Been seriously considering picking one up with prices coming down quite a bit. I think that plus my GT3 would be "forever" keepers for me...two NA monsters that we likely won't see again.

Congrats. I have a 1st gen V8 Spyder with a manual transmission. 8 years later, and it still makes me smile. Such a special car. Going to be sad when Audi discontinues the R8.

Wow I totally forgot about the R8. I'm surprised they are still producing it. I have always thought it looks amazing, not sure why it's not more popular.

It's not flashy enough. Kindof like the Nissan GTR.
