IIRC, Motortrend found that they got better results without Launch Control. I will try to find and post the video (Ignition) when I am back home. It will be interresting to see if you are able to improve your times with LC. BTW, thanks for doing this and sharing the info. Some valid questions are asked to better understand the results; thanks for taking the time to answer them . EDIT: Video added. Starting at 6:35 Last edited by CanAutM3; 09-03-2014 at 05:01 PM.. 2. Those CF parts really reduced the weight. It is obviously that. That is all. |

8 flat for FBO M3 to 100? in the tuner GP tests by Sport Auto with some of the most potent tuned and lightweight m3s (e.g. awork-x/weith racing) have achieved 8.6-8.7 secs to 100.
Also, while I don't doubt the v-box data output, which is good for comparison purposes, people are forgetting that mags like C&D and R&T use a 1 ft rollout and test the cars 10 times in each direction and using various launch techniques (that some freely admit would never use on their own cars) and by professionals (some 30 year veterans) who do this all the time. Maybe the fast times seen here are due to auto mags adjusting times for SAE, slope greater than estimated, wind, cold temp etc. Usually the mags get the fastest times for any car unless have drag tires. The results here make sense relatively speaking but in an absolute sense, seem to suggest outlying results for both. Quote:

They just can't COPE with the results in some cases. It's quite sad how all the threads regarding the performance of the car get dragged down by people who don't have it. Odd how that works.
