BMW Y Cable Not Supported.

I just bought the lightening y cable from the dealer (part number :61122287505) and iDrive says not supported. I'm searching everywhere and can't find a solution. Car is a 2011 E90 328i, built 05/10.

This should be the correct cable for you but out of curiosity have you tried using an ordinary lightning cable?

The cable itself had to be plug into the computer and updated (I know, crazy). It worked after that but it was slow, lagged, didn't always connect and wouldn't let me access my playlists. Needless to say, I returned it and went back to AUX smh.

I can't say enough about the Viseo bluetooth cable. I haven't missed my y cable ever since. For cheaper than the y cable you get wireless connection to your phone that works really well.
