Good thing I didn't get the sport package. Sorry for the lousy camera phone pics... I'm due for a new one.

If that happened in the building where you live: sue (if its your car) and MOOVE as soon as you can (no matter if it happened to your car or not).

E46 M3 Silver Gray with Cinnamon Leather. I wonder if it had the Comp (CSL) wheels?

Thankfully, no. I was in a state of shock just seeing that happen to a car so close to mine. I can't imagine what the poor lady that owns the car must feel like.

Most buildings are smart enough to have signs in your lease or in the garage itself that they are NOT liable for any damage, loss, or vandalism of ANY goods in the garage.

Oh, they know what they're doing. Good luck suing (hint: nill).

If the building has some kind of security-doorman etc. then certainly permitting intruders to do THAT (it takes some time to rip the mags of and cart them off) would certainly be grounds for suing based on failure to provide adequate security. This is not a break window and snatch purse 10 second job.

Probably 90% of the apartments in my building are owned by the people that live in them. If she were to sue she would have to sue the co-operative and if she won we'd all have to pony up money to make up for the deficit (probably including the person who she was cat sitting for). So I doubt she'll go that route.

Believe me, they did it VERY fast.

Here's how it probably went down...

First they wait for someone to open the garage and drive in so they get in on foot behind the car. Then they broke into another car and stole the remote to open the garage door. They then pull in with the other car, jack the wheels off the BMW and hit the road.

It was total smash and grab. I know the pic quality sucks but look at how they wedged the spare under the passenger side to get the wheels off without a jack. You also can't see how poory placed the jack was under the driver side that it busted up the bottom panel and damaged the door panel.

I wouldn't panic and sell my apartment over this. Besides, I can't think of any safer and more upscale downtown neighborhood to move to other than the one I'm already in (Old Port).
