My new car!

So today it was official, put down the full payment on this amazing e92 335i at Birds in Iver. I will be collecting it in a few weeks once my insurance expires on my current Golf mk2 gti

I was really lucky to find it I think.

It's an 2006 335i SE with 11,800 miles and a great spec:

Pro Sat Nav
Bluetooth
Electric Glass Sunroof
Heated Seats
19" 5 Spoke Alloy Wheels
Logic 7 Hi-Fi
6 Speed Auto Gearbox with Paddle Shift
Voice control
Auto Dimming Folding door mirrors
Sliding front armrest
Park Distance control front and rear
High Gloss Shadow line exterior
Electric Lumbar support

Full BMW service history

Anyway enough of the jibber jabber here are some pics, I will take better ones in a few weeks time:

Nice! Are you having any extras fitted at Bird's?

I remember when Tony's car looked like that.

Haha! Saw Tony's car today actually, wow it's having a lot done hehehe.

No serious mods yet planned, Birds where trying to convince me to buy a LSD and re-map lol.

I might do a map at some point but I need to get used to the power it has currently, it's easily 4x mine right now in terms of torque and 3x bhp

Nice... I would have had one of those, but getting my two year old in the back would have been a nightmare, so i had to get one of those strange 4 door contraptions

Lovely car but FULL payment weeks before collecting!!! That would cause me mega sleepless nights, think I would want it in my garage if I had paid all the cash as too many companies going to the wall at the moment.

Looks very nice, love the 230 wheels. The SE really benefits from an aero lip on the front. Black grills would also match the shadowline

That's a fantastic mileage for the age, paintwork looks is fabulous condition.

yea I am thinking about black grille, I don't like how light the lower grille is either on a black car looks a bit silly.

You clearly have access to their up to date management accounts and their banking position to be so sure of their position, sadly we are not party to such information. In the current climate very few companies are rock solid enough for me to want to pay them in full for something I didn't yet have in my possession. Yes perhaps Birds are solid but their marketplace is obviously suffering with less cash being spent on their products. there are plenty of people who have got caught out with companies and even banks / building societies going pop which no-one ever foresaw. Just my thinking, there is never in my mind a need to pay in full for a car before delivery and I would be very wary of someone who asked me to do so, a £1000 deposit ought to be enough to anyone to show youre commitment and also covers potential depreciation should you back away in a few weeks and they have to sell the car for less cash.

Lovely car BTW and another vote for the aero front.

I can understand where you are coming from but I am the registered owner of the car after putting full payment down. Keeping it there is merely a storage decision.

I tell you what I would be more worried about is if I were the guy who bought the lambo there 2 weeks ago for £80,000 and still hasn't collect it.

I haven't considered the aero front but it looks quite nice. I will be changing the headlights for 6ks and various other minor modifications. We will see

Yea an 80 grand Lambo sitting there would worry me too for sure. Issue really is that eventhough you have ownership in a reveiver position the premises are generally secured and nothing moves until ownership can be checked and assured. You would eventually get your car assuming no issues with their ownership of the car before selling it to you but just might take a bit of time. As said its very unlikely there will be any issues but I'm just very cautious at the moment.

Plenty of info on here about the aero front end, i added it to mine and its the best thing I added to the car, love the looks and was so pleased when I saw it done as it transforms the front of the car.
