i was thinking if the headlight cant be replaced, i would use a dremel tool to cut away the melted piece by 3-4mm, what you think?

I thought that the "rings" were made of glass and not palsstic????

And using a dremmel to cut away a few mm on the tips is the last thing I would do. I will make them 75x more dimmer. You would also be throwing away your chances of going to the dealer and telling them that it was a manufacture deffect.

to leave a nice surface, i need a precision dremel tool with carbide cutter and use fine grit sander to polish them. since i have brex kit, cutting 2-3mm wont affect too much as long as the tips are not too further in like 1-2cm

and if the dealer wont replace them, i will have to DIY using dremel tool.
if all cant work, i will buy another set of headlight eventually...bad luck

Now that the thing is both outer rings suffered the burn severely at their tips and not the inner ones though.

Called up the Head of mechanic, and i asked why both outer rings seems dimmer than those inner ones and he said might be caused by the voltage. but he said bring the car back to let him check it...
as requested, here is the copy of my service statement. the date for service is Dec 20, 2005. pmb start selling is 3/29/2006. which means I did not have pmb on my car yet. please check out the red circle place.

we have a few singaporeans with e36 and e46 with angel eyes too. they all use their fogs with their angel eyes at night because the angel eyes are too dim. some fellas even switch on their angel eyes during the day for cosmetic reasons, obviously.
yea, its cosmetic upgrade actually, it serves nothing but show white in color.
but if you have brex, the angel eyes is brighter in white not OEM yellow (which is more apparent during evening time)

first is dimmer, then it totally went out... and i only have that car for 19 days. can you believe that? 19 days old!!!but the good thing is they are not just change the light bulb or just the little part, they change the whole unit, as u can see, so i am again. light bulb went out is totally normal for bmw, if the light bulb never went out, then that's un normal for bmw, or that's not bmw. hahaa. I hope my service statement can explain the issue to you. don't worry, dealer will take care it without charge u a penny. remember to put all stock parts on b4 u bring it to dealer.

both my headlight had been replaced on Monday. dealer was slow to process my claim and they even cant notice the difference not until i told them to dismantle the halo. that dealer is suck big time and didnt even want to bother me each time i called up a week after another.

i got fed up and wrote to BMW HQ and screwed them nicely, and they sent my new headlights immediately the 2nd day.

If you have PMB's you can check your halos in the day time really quick without having to remove everything to get inside the halo housing. If you turn the halos on you wont see the halos themselves light up very well in high sunlight. However if you look at the bottom of the innermost halo up close from the outside of the car; you can see the halo stems before they disappear into the housing and they will appear whatever color PMBs you have. Obviously if the crap that is discussed here is at the tips of the halo stems then the stems themselves would be really dim or not lit up at all. Just a quick way to check your halos that I discovered and thought I'd share.
