I don't

I lost control in a corner, assumable because of oil or other fluids on the street and bit a barier with about 80km/h. Damage could be repaired, but I didnot want to have car that had such a damage, so I got rid of it. (long story short)

The DCT is a thrill!!! If you are there in 2 weeks you can join me for a round to see for yourself.

Good thing that you didn't get hurt!

YES! I'll be there in 2 weeks

This will be my most exciting trip ever! (after the one when I picked my car from Munchen, of course )

Tony, you gonna bring the two girls in your photo as well? Don't worry for a place for them to stay, I'm sure I'll find something.

Left or right? Not that it matters in the least.

I haven't been on a track for many years, how crazy is the ring? Do you have to be pretty experienced to survive it?

It's not that crazy as long as you keep your head ! Last trip out we had two or three complete track newbies, and they had a fantastic time. Ask Willhollin or SoYank for their experiences... I'm sure they'll post up on here in due course anyway.

"Survive" it!!! That does kind of sum up the feeling of relief when you return to the carpark area and everything is still in one piece!!! It is a formidable place and has a huge reputation and rightly so as many many people have died there. You just have to show it massive amounts of respect and drive within your own limits. Keep your wits about you, observe the rules with regard faster cars, concentrate and you will have a fantastic time. I think everyone that has any interest in cars should drive on the Ring at least once in their lives. Its a petrol heads Mecca!! Best advice i can give as a relative Ring newbie myself is do a few laps as a passenger with someone with experience before you venture out on your own (i highly recommend Tim as your pilot (e92fans bro) as he is a Ring legend!!). You will never be able to absorb all their advice and you will only remember the first 5 corners and thats if you are lucky!! But at least you will get a feel for the road and it wont seem quite as daunting or intimidating when you go out on your own for the first time. Most of all.... bloody enjoy it!!!

If we're going to be sharing a room, Will, should I be worried by that?

I agree with Steve's post above and will add one thing. If you have a chance get either Tony or Tim to copilot for you. You'll enjoy the laps so much more. Four eyes are better than two with regards to other traffic and the brothers know the track very well. I don't think I'd have enjoyed it as much had I not had Tony or Tim in the car.

Many thanks Viv - much appreciated. I did get your PM and had intended to reply. I was a silly boy and needed to be slapped on the wrist. Absolutely no hard feelings whatsoever. Still got huge love for many good people on here and im happy to be back. Ive had a great break, an awsome family holiday and an unbelievable new car that i cant wait to take to the Ring!! Looking forward to seeing all you chaps on the 14th. Woo-hoo!!
