Yes, they beat the price, but what about when something goes wrong? What is the track record of this company covering you for actual repairs needed?

I don't know. Maybe you should research that for us whenever a client buys a warranty from a BMW franchise dealer and they made a claim that didn't pay for parts covered? I personally never seen it happen. Usually people complain if some belt or brake pads(wear and tear) wasn't covered, but they were under the impression that "bumper 2 bumper" covers everything. Then they bash it online, which leads people to think they are totally worthless.

Can you please explain further. I’m in the process of buying a 2019 f90C and thinking about buying EasyCare extended warranty from the dealer. Many thanks.

Easy. Give Ben a call at BMW. ************** He sold me my extended warranty and it covers mods. I got different quotes from other BMW dealerships and he beat them all. BMW warranty and 3rd parties. I decided to go with 3rd party because it was cheaper than BMW plus longer coverage and it didn't matter that I have mods. I was done in 10 minutes via Docusign.

I already made a claim from the warranty I bought from him for inoperative door lock actuators at the dealership. $1800 fix. I handed my paperwork to the Service Advisor and he took care of everything. Just paid $250 deductible.

Good luck and enjoy your new vehicle 👍 😀

I would reach out to the BMW dealership and see what companies they use for the warranty.

Dealership wil “use” any warranty you may have. They will start a claim on your behalf when repairs are needed. Question is what will your warranty cover and dealership has no control over that. There are many warranties that people get a “deal” on but are not worth paper they are written on because they don’t cover much when needed.. Two of the best companies to deal with are fidelity and safe-guard. Pre covid I would say fidelity but now quality guard offers better service.
Porsche and Audi endorse quality-guard.

Doubt any corporate BMW dealership having vetted the warranty companies would sell a trash policy to their clients. I bought a 3rd party warranty from BMW and made claims already and it was honored. Not sure what your looking to accomplish?

I think you misunderstood what I said.
Dealers do sell only brand endorsed warranty which is solid. What I said that dealer “service dept” will use any ext. warranty but coverage will depend whether your ext warranty policy is good.
I did not insinuate that policy you/dealer sold is trash so calm down.
Buying from the dealer is a great policy as you do get a good product. You do pay a premium price sometimes as you can get the same coverage with the same company for less outside of the dealer.
Not saying that was the case here.
And as far as you warranty covering mods…lol. If your service advisor mentions that vehicle is modified or tuned good luck getting coverage.

Got you. Sorry I misunderstood. The 3rd party warranty I got from Ben from BMW has specific surcharge box marked if your car is modified they'll still cover it and it doesn't disqualify you from coverage. It specifically states intake, headers, exhaust, tunes/chips, aftermarket turbo, aftermarket throttle body ok. Not nitrous or upgraded fuel systems though. Like I said I have mods and still got my claim honored with service advisor at dealership.

No worries on the misunderstanding. Looks like you did your homework and purchased thru a franchised dealer…can’t go wrong there. If a repair claim gets denied for whatever reason you have dealer who sold the policy to back you.
As far as mods go, policy may “cover” your vehicle and not disqualify from coverage, however if they determine that a failure is caused by a “mod” like an over aggressive tune then coverage of that repair would most likely be denied.

What is the name of the 3rd party warranty company? And roughly how much is? Can you do monthly or is it a one time payment?

Reason I ask, one of the sales rep at my dealer (who is the Dinan/Carbahn specialist) offered me a 3rd party warranty company.

That is incorrect about tune coverage. I made sure when I discussed with Ben. He even had me talk to the warranty company executive and confirmed if you pay the extra modified surcharge it's covered even if your tune caused it.

Carbahn offers it as well. I heard they just started offering warranties this year. There a solid company who builds and tunes BMWs, so if they offer it I would check them out as well.

Unfortunately there's no monthly, you have to buy it upfront. However, its transferable and cancelable for a pro-rata refund anytime.

Ben from BMW told me to let forum members know to call him(**************) for specific forum member pricing because every vehicle is different miles and years. You definitely won't pay retail with him for sure, so I suggest calling your local BMW dealer to get a ballpark retail price for your warranty then Ben will beat that.
