OEM Aero Kit from Crown Auto legit?

I want to buy the aero kit for my coupe which is currently waiting for a ship at the port. I noticed some people talking about getting it from crown auto and when I checked the price it was almost 100 bucks less than my dealership quoted me. I want to buy it but my dealer told me that there is a national backorder for this part. I just want to make sure it is a real BMW part before I buy it. Anybody know if it is the real deal. Maybe someone here has already purchased one from crown auto, if so your help would be appreciated.

Google "Crown Automotive". I think it's the parts distributor for about 50 different dealerships around the Southeast, so in effect, it's buying from where the Crown dealers get their parts.

do a search on crown bmw here...you'll see nothing but praises and compliments for the way they do things.

I wasn't aware they're shipping large items now though.

Crown's my dealer, and I've ordered online many times....JD's a great guy to order from, and I'm sure it's legit. (Although if it isn't I have no liability

i tried actually ordering it yesterday...

this is what i got for the aero kit front lip

"we don't usually ship body parts, we can get and ship these (they have to come out of Germany, 7-10 business days) but the freight would be about $90, do you still want the part? We were shipping these for $20 the first three we got... then we got our UPS bill. They had misquoted the freight and we were loosing about $70 per order! I'll hold off on the order until I hear back."

anyone know any other place to get it for 300?
koz now the price is 390 with shiipping... sucks.. oh well

I went to my dealer and asked them their best price for the M aero kit. He quoted me $1,000+tax.

The lip is $300.17 and $95 for shipping with a 7-10 business day lead time from crown not bad considering some dealerships are trying to charge $600 plus shipping!

Not sure how much PacificBMW will charge you for shipping, they are out here in California. They have the lip for $325.

Jason, How much were you quoted for by the dealer to install the lip at VPC? My car is on order, and I received a quote for $795, painted and installed prior to delivery.

my guess is that you can save some money...
buy from turner for about $350....
get a good shop to paint it and put it on...
shouldnt cost more then $250....
do some research...
