burl wood trim question

Hi, having had my F30 for about 5 months now, just realized my far front passenger side vent doesn't have the burl wood trim around it while the far driver side vent does. Just wanted to check with people if the vent on the far right is suppose to be decorated with the wood trim or just the plain plastic. Thanks.

There is no trim around the passenger vent. It's normal.

I personally am not the biggest fan of the Dark Burl - in my 335d and my current 335xi, I find that it scratches extremely easy... I don't use anything on it and just wipe the dust off with a microfiber... is that why?

I've noticed that too. Fine scratches that you can see at an angle esp with the sunlight. Been told not to use microfiber cloth on a dry surface since that will scratch it.

I have this spray wax stuff, I wonder if that would be fine to use on there with a micorofiber?

It's only wood on the driver's side in my 428i also.

I use a damp towel (one of the ones used for drying the car), but even so fine scratches appear out of nowhere it seems.

They must use super soft lacquer on the wood...
