Why F80 M3 wins vs E92 M3
Couple years back in 2008 to be exact. I bought my first new bmw e92 m3. Great car, but now looking back it was missing things that I really enjoy now.
E92 no full leather. E92 no heads up display. E92 love high revving engine, but no torque in it f80 win again. E92 standart brakes were just ok and looked ugly. f80 Standart brakes are good looking and carbon ceramics are even better f80 rules again. Weight savings are big plus for f80 also. Carbon fiber roof is now available for sedan THANK YOU BMW. Huge plus in my book as I bought e92 for this option and sacrificed 2 doors. Sold the car because really need 4 doors. Always had sedans from bmw. Others can probably name few more, but for me these changes make f80 winner hands down. The debate over engine and exhaust are the only ones that I give to e92. For me I could care less because f80 m3 wins other 90% of them. THANK YOU BMW f80 m3 will be a keeper for long time. |

I had an e92 and while I haven't received my F80 yet, I can imagine they both have their pluses. One of the biggest things I miss to this day after selling my e92 is the sounds. Had the stock exhaust mod done and the car just sounded amazing. One thing I didn't care for was in order to feel like the car was putting me into the back of the seat was to be above 5K RPM which was hard to do in town.

But on most other counts, I prefer the F82 to the E92. |

N/a engine in my e92 sounded great agreed 100%
F80 not so much, but this engine with mods under 2 grand get me 100 hp. E92 2 grand gets you 20 hp. Boils down to this great sound in the e 92 and get beaten every time when you race f80 m3. OR less sound but be a winner every time you race f 80 m3 For me could care less for sound of e92. |

Just because an engine is NA doesn't mean it necessarily sounds good. I'd rate the S55 to be a better sounding engine than the S54, but definitely not better than the S65.

https://instagram.com/p/BGDho8wIn-o/ I have people comment on how my car sounds pretty much everyday and I'm still on the stock downpipes/exhaust. It is a real crowd pleaser, the way the S55 should have been from the beginning.

lol...really?
came from a 2011.5 e90 m3 (with ZCP) to my current 2016 f80 m3... both are great cars in their own right..but you're comparing apples to oranges... that being said...there are a few things I miss from my e90 m3...but nothing to start a thread about... #firstworldproblems

Just stop this shit. Enjoy whatever car you like. I just spent two days at Bimmerfest with E92s, E46s, generic 3series, old ass 80s cars, big ass M5s and it was nothing but love between everybody.
All love, what a great community. Everyone drooling over everybody else's whatever generation, M or not. Just car love.....then you turn the internet on and this shit. I love my F80 but I also loved that 1986 3 series I saw at Bimmerfest with a base interior and completely mechanical and analog personality and let's not kid ourselves, I freaking love how my F80 sounds with an MPE but no doubt an E92 sounds blissful. |

IMO:
E46>F8X>E90. All awesome. Purely subjective. YMMV.

I don't know about you guys but I like my previous E92 M3 more than my F82 M4 when it comes to driving experience. The E92 is a lot more visceral/raw, especially with good aftermarket coilovers and a nice sounding exhaust. Steering and throttle response was great as well.
I like the M4 too. To me it looks a lot better than any E92 and a lot more luxurious but I have to admit it's a lot more numb than the E92 and not as fun to drive. It feels like a luxury GT car more than a sports car (which I do like, because I'm getting old). Yes it's blazing fast with the improved torque but that's only part of the equation when it comes to fun. Both cars have their advantages and disadvantages, neither of them are perfect but I will always love both of them. |

I had them all expect the e30 and I think the E46 M3 is the best M3 ever made. Thats why I kept my E46 its not faster, better looking or anything. Just somehow has a soul and drives great.
