2010 135i jb3 tune questions

Hey guys, I am thinking of grabbing a jb3 tuner chip (plug and play so I can easily pull it out if I need service done that's more then an oil change). Those with experience with it have you had a noticeable loss of mpg? I've only found one report where one guy said he was getting another avg 1mpg (so 21 to 22). Also, since it's increasing the psi to the turbo should I be concerned about long term damage to the engine? I figure BMW tuned the car the way they did for a reason.

Also, after reading the thread about newer 135i being able to detect tuner chips; it won't leave a big blaring message to the dealership that I at one time had a tuner chip installed right? If so, is there any other tuner chips that wont?

1) Oil change Interval 5000 Miles for Tune vehicles

2) Remove JB3 when going in for Service

3) Clear all codes with JB3 before removing

4) JB3 is great and will not damage your car. Terry has been running them at high boost forever and his car is fine. There are thousands of JB3s out there running with no problems.

One of the best parts of the 135i N54/55 turbos is that it's so easily tunable. JB3 is awesome, I'm sure you will love it. (There are other popular hardware tunes too... search 1Addicts, E90, and the web.)

You asked if there are any tuner chips that don't leave a blaring message that a chip has been installed. Do you know there are a variety of software only ECU-tunes that simply replace/overwrite the BMW stock ECU software?

And amongst those, is Dinan software, for which Dinan provides a backstop warranty to BMW's standard 4 yr/50K mile warranty. If something blows, and BMW declines to cover it because of the tune, Dinan's backstop warranty will cover it.

Of course, Dinan is pricey, but if you value the quality and security, it's great.

Good luck Rasparin!
