Question about full leather and dash maintenance

I did a quick Google search and didn't see what I was looking for. I'm considering switching from extend to full Sakhir on my order, but I was looking to find out if there were any difficulties maintaining the leather on the dashboard. Bear in mind, this will be 100% garage kept, so I'm not worried about sun damage.

I've had zero issues maintaining the leather dash. car has a little over 17,000 miles and i've had it since july of '14. Whenever it gets a little dusty and i need to clean it i just use leather masters to wipe it down

You will have no issues. There is a wide variety of excellent products for cleaning and conditioning leather. Lexol, Zymol, Meguiars, Zaino and a number of others will keep your leather like new,

Another July 2014 car with full leather. No issues with the dash at all, I clean it as the rest of the interior, clean microfiber cloth damp with warm water. Looks like new.

My 2002 E39 M5 has full leather and after 11.5 years of ownership, I've had no issues with the leather dash. The car is garaged at work and home and cleaned regularly. I've also done the Leatherique treatment twice.

If you want it, go for it! That said, one full leather car in the stable is enough for me (in the E39 M5 with the luxury interior it is literally everywhere) and I've ordered my F80 with extended leather.

Do it, the leather dash is one of my favorite parts of this car. Really classes up the interior.

Absolutely worth it....easily one of my favorite features of the car. Gives me immense satisfaction when I enter the cockpit.

Btw, there are so many cleaners/protectants out there.

Personally, I have used a product called Blackrock Leather 'n Rich for years. Only recently have I began to use it for my cars. It's meant for high-end leather cleaning/restoration and it's main ingredient is caranuba.....it has done wonders for my jackets, shoes...ect....and when I tried it on the full Merino leather I was equally impressed. It's meant for you to rub it in deeply with your hands and then buff or wipe off after you let it sit for 10 mins or so.

This way it doesn't leave a shiny residue and keeps that matte finish of the leather.

At $10 a jar, you can't go wrong.

I treated all the leather surfaces, to include the seats, dash, door panels, etc with CQuartz leather treatment http://www.carpro-us.com/carpro-prof...er-vinyl-30ml/.

Anything that has ever gotten on my SS seats, has wiped right off

Highly recommend for the entire interior as it does UV protection as well

I think that was my biggest worry, that the products meant for conditions it would give it a shiny, artificial look. Thanks.
