coding

has anyone done any coding on the 2 GC? I have the bimmercode app on my phone and used it to code lots of stuff on my M240i. however plugged it in the other day on my wife's new m235i GC and there seemed to be very few options to change, which was kind of a bummer.

What were the options? Hopefully, start/stop deactivation was one of them.

I did the start/stop. What else are you looking to do? The changes I made to my 340 like tire temp are already on in the M235.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I wanted to change the coding for idrive so it shuts off when you open your door. I did this on my m240i and I really like it. also, what about rear fog lights on this car? I coded those on as well in my m240.

I'm not sure. hoping someone on here knows. my m240i has them but had to modify the switch and do coding to be able to turn them on.

Same car as M135i F40 essentially, so there's a few nice touches to code.

Add Sport Plus
Add Comfort Plus
Put M logo on idrive screen
Add Sporty setting to Engine sound (this will keep exhaust valve open all the time)
Change dash to M dash
Disable electric window opening again whilst closing and you open door, which annoyingly stops it closing and it starts opening again!
Disable ASD
Disable start/stop
Choose default driving mode - I have Sport Individual as the default

I don't recall seeing all these coding options when trying recently to code my m235i GC. which coding app and adapter are you using?

Bimmercode Expert mode must be switched on. The codings are there. Using one of the high end adapters as the cheaper ones have aome restricted access. Unicarscan from Germany, cost 50 Euros, so around Ł46 for me

I coded the following today using the Bimmercode App:
Auto Start/Stop
Display Layout
Start Logo
One Touch Turn Signal
Warning At Startup Animation
Wanted to change default start up to Sport Mode but could not access the Body Domain Controller Unit (see my thread)

I coded about the same things except sport and comfort plus. I have an ODBlink CX which allows all Bimmercode coding.
What are comfort and sport plus modes?

I've coded a few things using Bimmercode and an OBDLink CX. Mostly things I find annoying like setting a new default driving mode on startup, defaulting the auto start/stop to off, and disabling the iDrive startup warning. I also deactivated the ASD and it sounds great on its own. From what I can tell all it seems to do is pipe in some extra bass tones.

The F44 definitely does not have many non expert mode coding options as my F30 on bimmercode...yet? Can't speak to how it compares to a F22 as I never tried to code anything on mine before trading it in for my M235i. I didn't see any option for Sport+, but again I'm not using expert mode.

I can confirm that the older VLink device only allows limited coding. Ill be trying the CX this weekend.

I found the coding spot in the BDC module expert for sport plus for the M235 earlier today, but I didn't dare try it just yet. There was actually another choice there called xtrboost that looked a little intriguing!

Yeah....I did some more digging around on the G20 forum where folks are fairly knowledgeable on coding and saw that. Someone also said coding that in ends up being same as Sport +.

But, back to Sport +......

Anyone here tried it on the F44?

It would appear we are both in the same camp :-) there are a number of things in expert mode that I would like to try, but I only have a moderate level of experience over the past few years with coding so I don't want to getinto a situation from which I cannot extract myself :-)

What modules are being detected on your F44 ?

I'm using the OBDLink MX+ adapter and this what I see(see the image).

I was hoping to see the Front & Rear Electronic modules.. :/

Well, I was able to code some minor things, but just curious if it's a limitation on the bimmercode app or adapter.
