M135i engine break-in period
Hi all, i should be taking delivery of my M135i hopefully sometime in September.
Just curious about any owners and your engine break-in period? I will also ask BMW about this when I receive the car and share what they have to say about it. Thank you. |

I took it easy for the first 500kms and slowly added more load gradually. I tried to break the car in by doing regular drives up the hills, varying speeds and gears on acceleration and deceleration. Something to note is that the car in sport mode holds the gears pretty long so you might need to manually change them so that you're not reving all the way to 6500rpm |

I gave mine 500 miles mate and started wringing it's neck, there is no official run-in period. Only on M2 and above do you get proper engine run-in, think it's 1000 miles then it's an oil change and Rev limiter de-restriction.

I did not follow any break-in procedures, car was revved to the red-line just a few hundred miles/km mileage.
