I'll do some more research in expert mode when I'm off work and see what other interesting goodies I can find.
Cool.. now you can enjoy the quick shifting.. let us know when you get the equaliser going

Not too sure why but I'd probably say that its because your gearbox is a manual transmission.

NEW CODING FOR EXHAUST VALVE PERMANENTLY OPEN

You can have the exhaust valve permanently open, irrespective of whether you're in Sport, Comfort or Eco mode. (You need ASD disabled for the benefit of actually hearing your real exhaust, otherwise ASD drowns the exhaust sound out)

Code with Bimmercode Expert mode which will add SPORTY setting to your engine sound menu, which currently has 3 settings:
Depending on driving mode
Balanced
Reduced

The Sporty setting will keep the valve open constantly.

Switch on Expert mode under HU_MGU. Type in the word sound, you'll then see 2 options, enable both.

SOUND KONFIGURABILITY & SOUND KONFIGURATION.

Click code and wait for it to complete, then check your engine sound menu settings and you should see the additional Sporty setting👍

Ok coding done and worked well. The steps i took were slightly different maybe because I was using an Android phone but the process is similar.

I have this option activated but I don't really notice any change, could it be because my car is a 118i? ASD I don't know what it is or how it is deactivated

It's basically an enhanced synthetic/fake engine sound inside the car. Have a read about it. Type Active sound design BMW on Google and there's loads to read about what it does and how it works. It can only be disabled with coding. Reduced setting under Engine sound menu will reduce it significantly. You need an OBD2 adaptor, ideally one the more expensive one's which allow more coding. I have a Unicarscan from Germany, 50 Euros. Plus I paid for Bimmercode full access which was around £30 I think. Considering if you went to a BMW dealer and had one item coded, they would likely charge anything around £40 to £60, I would imagine. So with a good scanner and full Bimmercode app, you can code a lot more for a lot less expenditure.

I already have bimmercode and enet cable and encode the sound menu option, but the thing is that I don't notice a difference so I don't know if my car carries it.

Like an idiot I bought the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 and then checked this thread afterwards. Sent it back now and ordered the ODBLink MX+ although pretty expensive so might just get an ENet cable and Ethernet to Lightning adapter or something.

Did manage to code a couple of things. Really like the M Style Dash but anyone noticed there's no change when you put it in to Eco? Presumably because M cars don't have an Eco mode.

I'd think that's the case too. I wasn't so keen on the M dash so I took it off. It would have been good if it came with the M sports display 👍

I ended up going back to standard for the displays. Loads of missing info including your gears in Sport - which I found odd.
