It is difficult but not impossible to cleanly touch up metalic paint. AFIK, there are three choices, at least, for good touch up paint with the above cavaet. BMW, Auto Sharp, and ColorRight. You will want to get the clearcoal touch up material too. |

I have used Autosharppen for 4 years on 3 different BMW´s.I must say that it is amazing .The previous BMW´s were metallic paint and my E90 is Alpin weiss. It is easy to use it .

I've found the metalic touch up paint from bmw to be good, just for finer scratches and marks - the nail polish type applicator is terrible!!! Get yourself a very fine paintbrush from an art shop and do the job slowly and carfully with a tissue or towel to wipe if you make a mistake.

Sorry a little off topic, but I was looking for touch-up paint in a spray can and i found it at this site:
www.paintscratch.com Unfortunately they only have a 12.5 oz. can ($24.95) and that is way more than I need. Does anyone know another website that offers touch-up paint in a smaller size?

BMW touch up is good for saph. black (I have same color). Kit comes with bottle of base and bottle of clearcoat. Use a toothpick to apply the paint (The paint will be drawn off the toothpick onto the surface you're touching up). Apply the paint in 2-3 coats, apply 1-2 coats of clear and buy super fine sandpaper (auto paint shops have supper fine 2500-3000 grit). It will never look perfect, but it won't look horrible. Some 3M Hand Glaze will help address any super fine scratches from the sanding.
