squeaky noise on downshift. 2019 m135i x-drive

Has anyone come across a situation where when changing from say 3rd to 2nd they hear a squeaky coming from the car as it goes from roughly 2k rpm to 2.5k rpm?

Yes mate - mine has started doing the same thing after BMW applied the "fix" for the wastegate rattle.

BMW Australia is trying to tell me that this noise is normal operation for this vehicle and has advised that if I want to take things further to contact the Office of Fair Trading.

Which I have now done. They are now saying that they will offer a lifetime warranty on the turbo however that doesn't solve the problem.

It's such a shame because the car is awesome otherwise!

Turns out mine is coming from the exhaust valve.

Since the actuator repair I now have a squeak when turning the car off but I’m assuming this again is the exhaust.

Only fix for the exhaust is a brand new exhaust so it’s a good excuse for me to get an aftermarket one
