need help with M3 lease

Im thinking about leasing an 06 M3. MSRP is $52,995. I guesstimate that after 3 years it would have a residual value of $33,386.85 (63%). So basically Im paying about $19,600 + tax + interest over 3 years?? This is assuming MSRP though. How much should I expect the cap cost to be?? Comments/suggestions??

matsarge- how much were you able to get them to take off MSRP for that one M3 you just bought??

Sounds like you need a crash course on leasing. Don't assume anything. The residuals and money factors are listed every month here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20

The residuals cannot be 'marked up' but the money factor can - by 0.0004 or about 1%.

You should negotiate the price of the car as if you were buying. As for the cap cost, this is your choice. Usually, most lease-savvy folks will tell you not to put down a CCR.

Make sure you know what you are doing. All the info you need is on this forum and on Bimmerferst.

Very sound advice. I would add that typically leasing M cars is a VERY bad idea. While BMW offers great lease deals on other models (see X5, 325, etc.), M cars and 6 series are usually horrible. Since these are limited production with an avid fan base, BMW has no incentive to make leasing worthwhile. Unless BMW is running special subsidized deals given that the new 335 coupe is on its way, I'd recommend purchasing an M3 outright.

thank you both for your advice. It looks like the M3 is out or reach if I were to purchase it. That's about $15k over my budget. I decided to lease a car because I drive less than 10k miles a year and would like a new car every few years.

So I was playing around with the lease calculator on leaseguide.com. I put in $43,000 for a 335i coupe with RV of 63%, 5% interest, 8.25% tax, $2k down, 36 months, and cap cost of $38000 (ED delivery) and came up with a monthly payment of around $420. Basically my payments add up to about $17,000 for 3 years which I think is great considering I'd lose that much if I were to purchase the car. Comments?

not possible, just for my 325i with the options listed below they were asking 550 to lease and 720 to buy (and I got the xenons later). there's no way the 335 will be around 420
