Hi there!

I got a 530e G30 that got stolen and crashed... so I'm in the market for a new BMW now.

I've been looking at one M550d F10 (2013) and as alternatives I got (for now) 650i F06 (2012) and 530e G30 (2020). The price for those is about the same here in Finland.

Could someone help what to look for / avoid? The engine realibility? Common problems? Feeling?

What I want is a nice car with some horsepower in it.. so it's more about the feeling than about any single spec. I'm not into tuning really and I drive around 30 000km / year.

I don’t know much about the bmw diesel engines but stay far away from those early n63 v8s

I have a bmw 550i with same engine of 650i and my advice for you when you are looking for reliablity run away from it.

If well maintained this engine is reliable. But with a diesel engine it’s a little easier. But a diesel will never please with a sound like a V8

I know this is the 5 series forum and you haven't asked about an F11 or F13, and I'm saying this from that perspective primarily, but to me the 6 series is a lot more special to sit inside and you sit a lot lower as well.

I have spent time in F06 and F10 chassis cars as well and I think that even though they are actually the same chassis there are quite big differences in experiences and I'd say it is worth driving both.

Also I'd say that my 2017 M6 has carplay and the more modern idrive system - and coming from a G30 car I think you should be looking for that more modern version. My F11 seems really old because of the idrive system being older.
