How long should you wait before ceramic coating new paint?

Just picked up my x5 from PCD and not sure if I should wait to ceramic or even wax for that matter. In any event I plan on clay, polish and ceramic. Not sure if paint correction is needed on a brand new car.
Opinions welcomed.
Thanks

you'd be surprised the need for paint correction on a new car, even one that goes directly from the dealer after delivery to the detail shop

If you did PCD, you'll need very minor paint correction. It's typically good to wait 30-45 days after painting before applying ceramic.

Do they perform any polishing prior to PCD? My paint looks amazing, I wasn't sure if it came from the factory like that or if they do a little extra work at the Performance Center.

I don't know if this is the right way to do it, but i waited an entire day after delivery before brining mine in for Ceramic.

My installer told me that most brand new cars will need some form of paint correction, although the worst ones he's seen come straight from factory are the higher end exotics.

He also told me that BMW typically has the least amount of correction required due to the manufacturing process.

I waited about two months before I ceramic coated my '20 X5. And yes even brand new vehicles will need some correction. Start with the least aggressive compound and check your results.
