“Worth twice the money if you can afford it.” Aye, there’s the rub.
LC on a manual seems like a silly concept. Looking forward to seeing the M2CS. |

LC is silly in general unless the driver is unable to launch on their own… 💨

Now that LC has been added to torque converters over the past ~5 years, I agree it's silly. Really just brake boosting. |

It’s definitely not M DCT, but I will say it’s actually quite good for what it is.

The ZF8-Speed doesn’t feel like it’s going to blow the f’ing gearbox up in sport-plus like the M DCT

I could never figure out LC in my e93. Resorted to destroying the tires instead with my own fun ideas -traction off, DCT in 6th setting (IIRC), stomp on brake, load up and try to tame the beast. I’m sure that wasn’t a great idea either though. Maybe twice in its life.

Really good video by Joe here... the comparo between a shorter chassis and a longer chassis on identical roads speaks a ton.
It really tells and reminds me of why I would not want a short chassis car like the M2... it also reminded me of the faults of my old m2 f87... in essence, in the video, the M2 was bouncier, snappier and just less stable than the m3... it didn't really offer anything over the M3 outside of price. What i take away from this video is that the best middle ground is something like a G80x comp... in this video, it seemed like Joe didn't want to say anything bad about the m2 so he said it was good enough for the price but in reality it came off as being wildly subpar to the m3.

Yes, chassis and wheelbase. When I went from the M3 to the Z4 - and the Z4 has approximately the same wheelbase as the M2 - the snappiness and driving dynamics caught me off guard. Once you figure it out and adjust for it, it’s fine and definitely fun. But I prefer the stable and on-rails M3 myself! I’m sure the F87 was even wilder.

I've not had the opportunity to drive an m2cs... altho i wish i could because many say it fixes all of the issues... an adjustable suspension w less bounciness, better wheel and tires w more traction and other improvements... altho at that price point, again a g80x sounds better to me as a more complete car

Agree the G80 ZF8 transmission is not great… had the comp first, then the manual. Get the 6MT, it’s more fun and engaging. And mileage is about the same for me- actually a bit better. Blame it on my more chill driving |

In a previous year we drove the F87 M2Comp on the track, and I really liked it because it reminded me of driving my E36 M3 on the track, but with double the power and much better grip. |

We've run both on the track at buttonwillow and the G87 was a bit of a disappointment, in my opinion.
Mani, would you be able to help fix my issue with being unable to DM? I've had 2 successful transactions but can't leave or be left feedback. |
