GOT IT!!!!

It was quick. The CA went through all the major features with me. Only got a free T-Shirt and a key chain. A full tank of gas though. BTW, I bought a tire insurance for over $700 which covers 5 years.

Sorry, no pictures yet. I have to do some work now :-)

Cheap bastards!
I'm expecting floor mats, key rings and tire valve caps.
I asked for those breebies when I negotiated the price.

Tell us more about tire insurance.

hey where are the pics? you are having too much fun with your new car.

Chicagolab,
I guess you should have put more german beer in the trunk of your car.
maybe the guys unloading the boat took it all. hehe.

Well, I hope you get it soon. Your ED trip looks like it was so great.
It makes me really regret not doing that.

still waiting...but sure I know it is worth the wait..

regarding tire insurance......I signed the car's papers and financing prior to ED, and I also went with the Tire/rim/paintless dent removal insurance, around $400 covers me for 3 years, a good deal considering the great number of potholes in Chicago and the tight parking spaces (may need dent removal). My dealer uses a local insurance company. Because of potholes I've had to replace 3 tires on my Volvo in the past 3 years, so for me the insurance was a must.

FYI still wishing I was washing my car this weekend, I have no motivation to wash my Volvo, I will dump it as soon as my 330i arrives.

Interesting.
I drive on descent roads here in Maryland and I have had no troubles
due to potholes, so I'll risk it and not get such insurance.
I will consider the extended warrantee. I do plan on keeping the car for
a long while.

I also have no motivation to do much other than look at the clock to see
how many more hours before wednesday.

Sorry guys, I was on my honeymoon with my new 330xi. I drove it to Baltimore to have some delicious steam crabs.

One thing I am going to tell you is that: your BWM will be beyond your expectation - even your excpetation is very high. It is beautiful, powerful, and there are so many thoughtful features in the car! I love the navigation system - I will never need to use mapquest any more. You can choose from highway, fast routes or others. The voice command system really neat. I can't believe how advanced the technology is now. Active cruise control is very easy to use and smooth. The noise is low when the moonroof is open. What bhappens if you leave your key in the trunk and close it? It will open the trunk and flash the lights to tell you" the key is in the trunk ... I can go on and on .. I am sure you will be love with your car!

My car had the floor mats when I got it. I am not sure they are freebies.

Good luck with your cars :-)

FrankoQ - You will likely wake up at 4AM like me tomorrow. By the way, I went to the dealers' parts&services. The guy at the "parts" was rude and impatient. It's like I was buying something 99 cents. His attitude was unacceptable. Maybe he has a Kia. I decided not to give them business. I will get my spoiler in a good place.

One thing is normal when you start you new car: you will hear some rhythmic noise from outside of your car. It will be gone after a few miles. The engine and belts need time to settle as the CA told me.

4am? that is if I sleep at all. hehe.
I suggest you shop around. there are a couple of NJ BMW dealers that
have websites on ebay and they sell at very good prices.

Thanks for the heads up on the engine noise.

Question for you: did you get any pressure from them on the survey?
I heard they demand to get 5 out of 5 on that survey.
how long did it take (the entire process until you drove off with your baby)?

Thanks and we still waiting on pics.

The CA told me that I would get a call in a couple of days to do the survey, and I "should give a 5". On a piece of card board I got, anything other than 5 is marked a "Fail". It is OK to give 5 to the CA, but the place, I will not go back for anything in the future. It took me a long time to drive off. The CA spent lots of time, about 30 minutes, to explain me things and set up bluetooth. And then I have to see the fiancial person to get paperwork done even I brought my own money, and check out the items in parts department, install the all-weather mats, etc.

Make sure you adjust everything right before you take off, and don't play with anything on your way home. There are so many features that will make you busy for days, but I found too distractive to play with them while driving, even for radio. Don't forget to bring a CD and a MP3 CD.

I bought a tire insurance for $770( 5 years) becasue I am concerned about the road condition here. I had three flat tires in the past three years. So you may consider it.

Also be careful with the loan offers from the dealer: (1) a fee can be hundreds (2) early pay-off penalty (3) early pay-off without finacial. charge credit.

Double make sure that the dealer won't paint the name on the back of your car!

Other things: make sure the DVD is current. Two remote keys plus a spare key. Bring a roll of tape to type your temp license "plate" on the window, so it can be taken off easily. Place the inspection sticker on the right spot. Don't try to push the spoiler hard, but make sure it is evenly installed. etc

Very good info. Thanks.
I'm also not too happy with my dealer/CA so I'll wait and see what happens
tomorrow. my dealer is 22 miles away and like you, I won't come back to them. at least I don't plan to.
when I negotiated the price I was offered a ride from my home to the dealer.
well, they now refuse to give me a ride.
there is another BMW dealer 5 miles away and they were giving me the same
price. I took the offer from the one far away because they responded
very quickly to my emails.
I might regret that now since I also hear that service dept. does not give
you a loaner if you did not buy from them. we'll see.
anyway, I now need to take the metro to get there.

I'm bringing a list of things to check.
one of them, NO DEALER advertisement stuff on my car.
I'll check on the nav dvd. thanks I did not have that one on my list.
what version do you have?
I'm bringing my ipod with a new playlist just for such event.
I will ask them to program the destination of the place to window tint
since after the dealer I'm going to get the windows tinted.
I hope no finance delays. I'm bringing a check from my credit union.
so I hope that goes quick.

lastly, 2 more questions for you:
1) do you have a flashlight in the glove compartment?
2) do you have a tool kit in the trunk?

I believe those 2 are standard with the car but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the help.
