Nothing like the X2.

X2 is a jacked up hatchback.

But hey, at least the brakes are mounted to the outside to increased the polar moment and make it spin out of control easier if you ever overcome the understeer!

Guys, there is still hope left! From a BMW official,

"There will be a successor that will be on a rear-wheel-drive platform, so customers who want and need a new 2 Series coupe will find that in our line-up, as well as those who want a six-cylinder."

The manual is still unconfirmed, but we will still likely have one in the M2 coupe, as officials previously said that lower tier M's (M2/3/4) will have a manual for the future.

Yes, the G42 2 Series Coupe will arrive in mid 2021 and the G87 M2 is expected in 2023.

like i said, i dispise the GC side profile. The only one to really pull it off is the 6 series since it's so long already. But I buy coupes because I want 2 doors, not a chopped up wagon.

What's funny is this is also one of my biggest gripes with the Tesla design language. But again, they sell like crazy. So obviously the audience likes what it likes.

Tesla also sells well for other reasons, not mainly design, but rather because they offer something "unique" to the market. Want an electric car? Very few do that/have made the strives Tesla has (range, charging, tech, etc.) but want a compact sports sedan? You have a choice from The Germans, Americans, Brits, Japanese and even Korean, the market is much larger with greater choice and variety.

Tesla Model 3 would sell better if it had a functional hatch.

BMW is smart doing a full electric version of the 4er GC.

Let's just hope unlike what seems like every single non-Tesla EV, this EV can actually go more than 250 miles

Well they I absolutely agree with that statement.

Looks like Porsche is the first company to pull that off.

I don't understand why this car even exists. Why not just get a 3 series.

I also don't understand why BMW has moved to a design approach that incorporates all of these extra lines and seams. The BMW design etiquette used to be clean lines and reserved with underlying, subdued aggression for the M models. Like a fine tailored suit. Today, it's hard to distill from Honda or Toyota.

Because 3 series is kind big these days I suppose.

I don't think it will sell in North America but the rest of the world it should compete well against all the other fwd ones, quite well optioned if you ask me, so as long as pricing is right (slight to somewhat of a premium)

The 3 Series? Didn't you hear? BMW has canceled the 3 Series. The G20 is the last one ever.

Really. The board was voting on the next generation, and there was a huge debate on which direction it should go. Finally one member stood up and said:

"Guys, I don't understand why this car even exists. Why not just get a 5 Series?"

Everyone looked at each other, shrugged, and then in perfect unison said "Good point." So they canned it right then and there.

Absolutely true story.
