When should they confirm my ED pick up date?
I am starting to plan out my ED trip so I am needing to know the ED pick up date from my salesman. He said that the last person they did an ED for, BMW only gave them four weeks notice before they firmed up the date. Does this sound right?

Not at all...you should give your sale rep 3 dates and they'll send the request to BMW. BMW should get back within a few days (3-4 business days) or you might be able to call a Genuine as find out within 1-2 days.
That information is bad and wouldn't really allow for much planning (flights, hotels, etc.) on your end. |

Are you sure you have a production number though. IF there is no production number then you will not get a confirmed date. Need to get the production number first.

This is poor info. My first thought is that it's a stall tactic because they don't have an allocation. If you don't have a production number you can't schedule the pickup date. I think ED dates are generally booked 2 to 2 1/2 months out.

They don't get their allocations until the first few days of the month so I'm not sure what they're showing you. If there's no production number there's no car. Stay on top of them or start calling around. I'd go elsewhere based on the questionable info they gave you earlier and this odd screen shot business.

It has now been over two weeks since I placed my order. They have given me a production number, but still cannot confirm my ED delivery date. Does anyone know of another resource that I can call to get the answer?

I got mine within 24 hours. Once my CA said he sent the paperwork to the ED people, I called them a couple hours later to verify. Here is the ED Program # 1-800-932-0831. They will have your delivery date info.

Negotiated my purchase in October 2015 and received a production number on December 30, 2015.
I signed some papers (confirming my build) and requested my 3 dates on January 3, 2016. On January 6 my CA received an email from BMW confirming my first choice of dates: April 29, 2016. I would definitely start making some phone calls or sending emails: European Delivery Team Phone: 1-800-932-0831 E-mail: bmweuropeandelivery@bmwna.com

Your CA submits to BMWNA the 3 dates you pick, then the ED department has to get the confirmation from Germany. Due to the multiple handoffs and the time-zone difference, it usually takes several days. However, ED rep can give you a high-confidence indication whether you are likely to get your 1st-choice date. I suppose they have access to the production flow as well. But the confirmation has to come from Germany first, then your CA gets notified, and finally you get an email from BMWNA-ED.
2 weeks are too long for the confirmation. Good luck. |

You can also track your vehicle on the BMWNA website, even though the info there is not as updated as by calling Genius. Make friends with Genius. They are so informative, and so nice. |
