Simply don't get the negativity and 'cheap' thinking on the mixed trims. Like my last post, mixed light and black trimming has been an option before the G20, like in my E91. My current F11 has dual coloured trim as well, cinnamon with black. IMO, makes for a very classy interior. Everyone who has commented on my car's interiors rate them.

In fact my E91 was the first in my trim combination through my dealer. The guys were so impressed they ordered a car in the same combination.

Is it just me, or does the interior look like the new jetta?

I can't really explain it either, any more than i can explain why i like broccoli. Just my opinion. Maybe because it looks like the part was pulled from another car to replace one that went missing (like I sometimes see cars on the road with a different color door). No offense, just trying to explain where that sense might come from.

Nothing to do with being a cheaper product, it was a 'classy' option in the E9x models.

Many users didn't want "all light" interiors.
Not really sure but starting with your generation things got different. BMW did not used to do that before. You pick an interior and stays that way.
If you don't want that light you could get full grey, full brown, full red, etc. Yeah the doors have black but still that does not work with the full black back.
I never liked the light interior with black back covers. Looks weird and bad to me. I rather go all black than having that.
Yeah, two tone cabin will work, as long as they do keep a two tone (beige and brown for example), not black. Except they install that black in lemon, white, beige, brown or red, pretty much in every new interior.
How that sounds to you? Easy, right? Or simple, cheaper for them.

Did you see that the higher models don't get that? Wonder why?

To me looks pretty bad, but that's my opinion. I literally did't buy three vehicles so far because they couldn't offer me same color back cover.

I'm surprised by all of the negative comments about this car so far. I know it's always subjective but I'm just confused why everyone thinks its so hideous. I think it's a really good looking car and looks much more premium than the f30 in about every way. It's bold looking and classy at the same time and seems to have amazing tech and performance. 4 door premium sedans are always going to have similarities you can point out. This car has its own design and I think they nailed it. My 3 series business is about to take off again and I'm certainly happy about that. Now just waiting on the G80 for my next car.

Let's just remember just because they rename Dakota to Vernasca doesn't mean it still isn't shitty quality. New name, same crap!

Nothing wrong with the Dakota leather in my F30... at least it IS leather! Porsche use artificial leather as standard unless you’re willing to shell out mega $$$ for the real stuff!!

Can’t really expect BMW to use the finest quality nappa as standard can we. Those buyers for whom it’s a big deal will pay for the better quality stuff!

Very good point!!
Freezing cold temps also will this part fail and how much will it cost to replace out of warranty. Will cars overheat because part failed to open properly?
If only BMW would do winter cold testing before launching a new feature

SMh guys. Be smarter than this.

When Sport Line became standard in '16, the sport suspension was dropped. You had to order M Sport to get option 704.

I'm aware of many users who wouldn't have lighter color trim options, because there is just "too much beige", for example.

For me that applied to the E9x models, 'all beige' was a step too far.

Lighter colored trim combinations with black work, IMO, balances the ambience of the interior.

As to higher end models. I recall top end 5-series having colors matched with black, including the rear of the front seats. I was tempted by an E61 535d (European) wagon, which was brown leather and black trimming, including the rear of the front comfort (multi-contour) seats. Looked fantastic as a color combination.

Agreed!

I love to still have the temp knobs in my G30.

While I appreciate the new HVAC design, there is definitely some cost cutting going on there... Only push buttons, smaller LCD display screen, etc.

Very nice car overall. Is a vast improvement over the F30.
Just curious, how is this better looking?? I'm perplexed at best.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
True, but didn't clarify on what makes this "better"
For instance, I never cared for the cheap looking hood line cut over. That is OK on a Mazda 3, but not a car from a premium manufacturer.

Never cared for the front end either.

The interior was cheap and outdated.

Shall I go on?
Do you own a Leisure Suit??

I think I saw these wheels in German configurator as one of the M sport wheel option, so it seems one can now cross shop options a bit even between trims
I thought the same thing. When I was shopping for my F30 I had to have an M-sport. It wasn't even a negotiation for me. Now the G20 looks attractive enough that I would consider all trims when shopping for this car.

Yes, the UK configurator has no M Sport suspension option for the ‘Sport’ model... Will this option appears at some point because, whilst for me Sport suspension is a must have, I really don’t want to pay the extra £3300 for M Sport trim just to get all the extra tech stuff I don’t want. If the option doesn’t appear I simply won’t buy one (at least until some pretty heavy discounts appear)

When the F30 started production there wasn't sport suspension on the Sport model, but M-Sport suspension (704) was an option on all models in the UK. Maybe it will show up as an option for the G20 Sport before cars go into production.

Completely agree - the all tan, and I do mean ALL tan leather interiors are one of the main reasons I can’t ever find a nice used Porsche to pick up. It’s just too much.

Now, if the seats and othe pieces are lighter, but the floor is black, as you said there’s a nice contrast an it looks great. My buddy’s 5er has the “white” seats in his F10 and that contrast looks dynamite.

The black floor also hides dirt better IMO - older cars with lighter colored carpets on the floor always seem to be dingy looking.

I agree. I have oyster/black on my e90 which is awesome. Looking at a saddle brown f30...I'd avoid the full beige though for sure
