Those grills seem way too big on the car.

Maybe I'll get used to them with time.

Agreed!

I love to still have the temp knobs in my G30.

While I appreciate the new HVAC design, there is definitely some cost cutting going on there... Only push buttons, smaller LCD display screen, etc.

Very nice car overall. Is a vast improvement over the F30.
Just curious, how is this better looking?? I'm perplexed at best.

A few gripes about the interior...

Center console buttons look cheap and too many of them concentrated in one spot

Not sure about the console mounted engine start/stop button

No Sync button for the HVAC controls

No CD Player slot (I can still play CDs in my G30)

Standard steering wheel looks too big

Not feeling the interior door handles

Appreciate the cleaner and minimalistic dash/interior and Hope materials are superior to the F30.

On the fence about the digital dash and iDrive 7.0

They have an open and closed setting like the G30 for improved aerodynamics when cooling isn't necessary.

They really went to town with this.
I know it is subjective, but I love how both front and rear bumpers are agressive enough so that M sport version is no longer the only way to go.
I think I saw these wheels in German configurator as one of the M sport wheel option, so it seems one can now cross shop options a bit even between trims

Well, it is aimed at Chinese market in large part, as design suggests. Language direction certainly is less Teutonic and more Asian. At least to my eye. Very Very similar to what Mercedes started doing with their designs recently. Only Audi to me now looks German in the traditional stereotypical sense of the word.

It may be, but personally I don’t think the venue lighting would make it appear that light. This looks like a new colour to me!

Yeh, a lot of people on this forum are dissing the T shaped front air dam inserts, but I actually reckon they look great In these pics and will look even better when the car is in front of you! This is how it is in the original design sketches:

usually the 3 series is just a little below the 5 series range but this new set up looks pretty legit from the pictures so we will have to wait and see how it looks and feels in person

The configurator only shows one gray, mineral gray, maybe they changed the shade, but it is the same name of the F30's gray, which in my opinion looks better than the G30 and G01's graphite gray

I'm just wondering how this will work in the cold winter temperature when ice will block the opening of the grill...

I wish they had an option for a classic instrument cluster layout for the instrument display. I really like the round guages.

Very good point!!
Freezing cold temps also will this part fail and how much will it cost to replace out of warranty. Will cars overheat because part failed to open properly?

For instance, I never cared for the cheap looking hood line cut over. That is OK on a Mazda 3, but not a car from a premium manufacturer.

Never cared for the front end either.

The interior was cheap and outdated.

Shall I go on?

All my past BMW's had matched light colored plastic including the X1 that I still own.

I’m not sure it’s a ‘cheap’ thing, since I’m guessing BMW could manufacture the colored plastic for the same as black. It’s probably just a bad design (maybe catering to complaints about little kids kicking backs of seats with dirty shoes). I do agree, it’s not attractive and looks cheap though, and it also affects my purchasing decision. Mostly because if I think they’ve not paid attention to that detail, what else have they chosen to not care about.

Don't follow what you are saying. My E91 had lemon leather with black trimmings, like the back of the front seat panel and part of the door trims. Very similar to the G20 shown in the first post.

Nothing to do with being a cheaper product, it was a 'classy' option in the E9x models.

Many users didn't want "all light" interiors.
