Yeah, I agree, but I think it’s just a symbolic indication of how difficult they’ll be to clean

But yeah, nylon bottle brushes are not what you want

Plugged an almost brand new tire after picking up a self tapping sheet metal screw. Car got us to Rockville, a big music fest at Daytona International Speedway (which I’m too old for, but f it). I’ll have it fixed right in a week or so.

I have wanted a set of those since forever. Sizes you chose? They look thick, but it's a thick looking tire.

How do you find the noise compared to you previous tyres? (Not too sure what you were running before)

This puts me off a full blow track tyre, as I drive to the track on them.
Currently running cup 2’s and find them Louder than my PS4’s but it’s bareable.

437s are back from powder coat, I chose gloss silver.
Acexxon “FRear Reflectors”,
Black G87 M2 Badge ($20 cheaper on IND than the Black F87 M2 badge )
ARM exhaust tips.
Along with my new (ZIPY) plate.

I love the way this car is turning out. I’m also happy with how the wheels turned out although there’s still some angles i’m getting used to!

-Let me know your thoughts on the 437s and going away from the two tone.
-Car is on EMD springs (Recently switched from Macht Schnell springs)
-My camera skills are shotty 😁
-Enjoy

I don't mind getting away from 2-tone 437's, but bright silver on any of the darker colors doesn't do much for me (in pictures), but IRL it's great I think. A very shiny medium grey is the ticket for MG I think, but it's a hard color to achieve, not too bright and not too dark, but shiny as hell.

Haven't heard of EMD springs, but the car looks super low, maybe 590/595?? Looks fantastic. And you're on 12/10 spacers? That front looks very close.

You're using a wide aperture, so you need to make sure you're always correcting that pink/green CA, and backgrounds make shots. Always have your auto-iso on for a little bit more than double the lens focal length so you don't get that motion blur. Even so, first shot is great IMO.

I chose Ferric 437's for my LBB at first and had the same issue, quite stark in pictures, but great IRL. Ride height is 595/600 with 12/10 spacers and stock size tires.

Out of curiosity, what made you switch to EMD from the Macht Schnell springs? I’m currently exploring suspension options and the MS were at the top of my list so far after hearing only good things from a few M3/M4 owners I know.

I only use them for Track days not for the street for the street. I run Hancocks Vice they are much quieter. They are basically regular street tires with kind of acceptable group as a 300 treadwear as far as I recall in comparison to an 80 tire and Designe that is made for grip and not for comfort.
I would do the same thing only use them for track and not frustrate us. I’ve been using them for two days now just scuff Them in and they are lowed

Thanks! IMO the Macht Schnell springs are superior in everything besides the ride height. The Macht Schnell springs have a good drop but I like being a tad lower. I didn’t feel like spending $2k+ on coilovers just yet so I decide to try out the EMD springs.

-The lighting in the two pictures is far different making it hard to tell. I’ll see if I can get a better after shot in the future. Sorta gives you an idea.

I’ll rate them as daily driver springs compared to stock driving characteristics.
-Macht Schnell springs overall - 9/10
-EMD springs 8/10 (I love the height)

EMD doesn't quote their ride height on the website, which is, well, pretty stupid if you're selling lowering springs. Maybe they hid it in "contact us"...

Do you know your ride height?

And if you rate them lower than the MS, why if you love the height?

Not perfectly level but it was about 590 front and 595 rear.
12mm spacers all the way around
OE Michelin PSS

It's amazing how that 5mm makes such a difference. The front OE star spec PSS is also very wide, more like a 255, which is why the combination of 590 ride height, wide front tire, and 12mm spacer looks so aggressive. I'm a little lower than you, 587/592 with a 9.5 front +22, so just 1.3mm more poke (as near as makes no difference), but the Cup2 is .4 skinnier, and I have it on a wider tire, so the look is a little different, but not that much. I'm sure in real life your front tire looks a lot wider.

Once more, with feeling. by Andrew Thompson, on Flickr
