Aftermarket bulb help
Hello! I drive a 2013 328i, and I just bought aftermarket housing units for my headlights. (SPY-PRO-YD-BMWF3012-DRL-BSM). The visibility is pretty low with the regular yellow halogen bulbs. Does anybody know what bulbs I can put in (low beam) to produce a white light that helps with visibility? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I couldn't find much on the internet to help, and I'm not very good with lighting on cars.

LED is the way to go. You can get higher color temperature H7 halogen, but they're not as bright. 55 watts is 55 watts, incandescent is incandescent. I can't understand why companies sell replacement headlights that use H7 bulbs. Replacement headlights should only be LED IMO.

This might be dumb, but how do I know what LED bulb will fit, and if it's okay to run in this unit? The only thing I could find was that I can't run HID bulbs. I finally found something that says go with T2Pro LED low beams, just not sure if this is right, since they're LED's and what I got was a replacement housing for the OEM halogens.

Spyder Pro list the headlight you purchased as having H7 bulbs on both the high and low beam. So buy H7 specific LED bulbs. It will make the beam brighter, but be expecting people will flash you if your level is off.. Generally the lens reflectors are designed for either Halogen/LED, and HID. Expect to code the bulbs.

Use these for lows and highs:
https://www.amazon.com/BEAMTECH-H7-L...%2C193&sr=8-16 These for fogs: https://www.amazon.com/BEAMTECH-Head...PX4QEFAK4WR5DZ You will need to code off the cold and warm voltage monitoring and code the bulb to LED. This applies to all LED, There's no such thing as plug and play without coding. |
