New Guy Saying Hello - Alpine white 330i here in 3 weeks!
Greetings everyone!
Let me first say that I've always appreciated German engineering - I had a 1987 Porche 944 in college and loved it. I've always like BMW, but when I compared apples to apples, the Acura TL always gave me more bang for the buck. Well, the new 3 series is roomier, and more powerful making it much more on par with the TL. The price difference seems to be eroding too. So, after two Acura TLs, I've order an alpine white/black leather 330i with Nav. In surveying the BMW forums out there, this one seemed the most directly related to my car, and quite active - very nice place here! Best, |

I have no experience with the TL, but did test drive the RL and that car was a nice luxury sedan but 0 sport. I have a 330i on order as well, and this will be my 3rd BMW. I think you are going to love this car. Congratulations!

Welcome! This is certainly the best place to discuss all things about the new 3 series!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yea, I think I'm really going to enjoy this car. I'm a little concerned about the tread life in the run flats, and the rear seat isn't quite as roomy as the TL, but overall, I'm quite convinced it's a better car. What put me over the top in my decision is the included maintenance for 4 years. My dealer is installing a car wash which customers will have access to for free!

Hey, welcome aboard mate. Congrats on the car purchase.
I have to agree with you that this is the best E90 forum, I have found the posters here to be helpful and friendly. Because of this, I don't use any other BMW forum.

I really thought E90 should be looked best in white. And , I had to fulfill my long dream about a black horse ( black BMW ) first.
Congrats ! Great color !

Congrats and welcome!
This is the best forum that I have found. I don't even post on any others. As far as information, maturity, and activity, this forum is great.

OK, the dealer called me yesterday to tell me that the dealer in NY who had first dibbs on the car would not play ball on a dealer trade. We talked about color choices and availability of in bound models, and my first choice, the Ti/Au (the white is my 2nd choice, but my fiance isn't wild about silver so I tried to compromise with a color she liked better) is what we're going to have to go with, based on availability.
Here's what my new baby (which should be here tomorrow or Thursday) will look like based on my color and option choices: |

Images didn't come in. Use the upload option, it works better, or just provide the links.
I actually took my third choice color when I got my E90, and now I'm thrilled that I got Alpine White... sometimes things just work out. Good luck!! EDIT: Nevermind, the images are there now. Must be my tumor again.

Congrats, Daytona_John!
We're in the same boat, or at least a similar one. I also just made the leap from an Acura TL to a 3-series -- a 2000 TL to a 325xi. And, as with you, it was the re-design on the E90 that really made me want one. (The test drive completely sold me!) At any rate, you should have no regrets on the color switch -- I don't know why your fiance doesn't like it, but that titanium silver looks fantastic on the E90! I almost chose that color as well, but my last car was silver and I wanted something different.

Congrats!
I have the AW/Black/Burl combo and I love it! That color combo will also look great without TiAg. Check my garage or msg me if you want to see pictures

You know, my 03 TL is silver too...but I just love that color! I was actually looking forward to the white...it seemed "younger" and more attention grabbing. But the silver is so classy...so very "James Bond." Did you even look at an 06 TL? Great car, no question. But the E90....wow... It sure is going to be a long day at work tomorrow! |
