I have the Vector in .45 and also picked up a Glock 21 pre suppressor ready. I grabbed an AAC Evolution in .45. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/752123021 The threading is M16x1LH on all three. Then they both use the same mags and of course ammo. The .45 is naturally subsonic. It makes for a nice combination. Still waiting for the suppressor to get out of jail.

Once you own the suppressor you can change the adaptor to use it on other guns with different threading.

I don't know if it is store policy or nationwide rule but you buy the suppressor first and it is sent to your FFL/LGS. Then you file the paperwork and pay the two hundred dollar tax stamp. When you submit it all, you have to send it in duplicate with a passport photo attached and two sets of recent fingerprints. Wait time varies but I have heard they are coming back in the four to six month range, a full year is also possible. When you receive the paperwork back then your FFL can release the suppressor to you. This is why some on here have posted "their can is getting out of jail."
A friend of mine just recently got his suppressor out of "jail" after a year of waiting. If the wait times are decreasing to 4 months, it might make me more likely to apply, despite the uncertain variable of Washington legislators.

I think individually filed form 4 wait times are starting to come down, but trusts are still out a ways (took 10 months for mine which arrived in November).

And a pic for ya...10.5" 300BLK with a can

Good move, I was initially interested in a Sig rifle (didn't know much at the time) ended up with my first Daniel Defense.

If you're only interested in threaded cans and don't want an arm brace, take a look at these:
https://www.tacticalsol.com/tsar/tsar-300-complete

They also sell just the upper:

FYI, Midway has IMI M855 5.56 on sale right now for as little as $0.27/rnd right now with free shipping. That's a super low price for some really solid ammo.

Screw off with your cheap American ammo. Want to know what Canada charges? Google it. If you want to feel sorry for me.

I'm looking to buy my first ar-pattern rifle this summer and there's so much info out there I just don't know what to do - direct impingement or short stroke piston, complete rifle or get parts and put it all together myself, which caliber to go with, etc. The choices seem endless, even with canadian gun laws.

DI will be cheaper than piston, and if you have any inclination to customize the rifle you'll save a bunch of money by buying all the components individually and then assembling (unless you can find a pre-built rifle that is already configured pretty much exactly how you want it.)

Go with 5.56 caliber. Then you can shoot either .223 or 5.56 rounds(can't shoot anything other than .223 round out of .223 barrel). DI will be cheaper as said, and building it yourself will be cheaper(and more fun if you like building stuff) and you can build it exactly how you like.

A friend stopped by yesterday with his custom built / custom finished .308 so I could photograph it.

Once I was done editing the image for him, I thought I'd edit the image for me.

I'm sitting here watching The Men Who Built America on the History channel, which is fantastic by the way and had a question about black powder guns for you guys in the know as I have zero experience with them.

What is the recoil like in a typical American Revolution era muzzle loader? The actors in the film seem to indicate there is quite a kick.

Hmm, this site says it's pushing a 545 grain lead ball at about 1000 fps. Muzzle energy is similar to a .223/5.56, but that doesn't always correlate exactly with recoil. These were single shot obviously, so there was no reciprocating action to absorb any of the recoil. They also had metal butt plates that probably didn't feel too good on the shoulder either.

Depends also of the weight of the used bullet, some of them are more lightweight to achieve less damage but more distance and vice versa.
I would rate the "blowback" at shooting a full choked shotgun with caliber 12/70.
The lethal distance was almost limited to 35 - 50 meters but the danger zone could be considered up to 100 meters with serious violences.
