Funny, I'm just the opposite. I love fall and winter here in SoCal. Cool, crisp air with temps mostly in the 60s and 70s. Spring's nice if it doesn't get too hot. Summer can be unbearable reaching 110F+ some days. I've always liked it cool, but not cold. Brrrr!

My wife hates the fact that I control the thermostat lol. She always has a sweater on. 100 degrees Fahrenheit doesn't bother her at all. Oh yeah, the point of this post was that when the time changes, that's the unofficial end of winter to me.

Haha, that's funny. BTW, where in SoCal do you live? I'm guessing somewhere inland. I don't remember it ever reaching 110F when I lived in the OC. If there's one thing I miss about Cali, it's the weather and the ocean!

Yeah, OC is a lot cooler. You almost don't need a/c there. Notice I said almost. lol

I'm in the Inland Empire. Alta Loma, specifically. Below Mt. Baldy. Beautiful view when it snows in the mountains.

The Santa Ana winds are definitely a thing here. I lost a pretty big tree, don't know what it was (maybe Sycamore?), during a Santa Ana wind event about 25 years ago.

I worry about the pine tree in the hills in our backyard that my daughter and I planted from a cutting that she got from school when she was 9 years old at Christmas time. Her whole class got a cutting. The cutting was about 4 or 5 inches, and the tree now stands about 35 ft. The tree means an awful lot to her and I and we would hate to lose it.

We are kind of in a pocket here in our little neighborhood and when surrounding areas get big wind, sometimes we get none or very little, but obviously that doesn't happen all the time.
