Hey everyone, just received my July issue of Motor Trend in the mail today. Under "Spycam" they have a half page article of the E92. I scanned it and attached it for your enjoyment... apparently now there will be Steptronic

Optional High-Performance Brakes that require optional 17" wheels??? Aren't 17's standard with 18's included in the sport package?

Yeah, I always thought there was going to be a Step option from the get go. Now a DSG-like option really WOULD be a treat!

Me too, but I can understand why they don't use it. Seems like they're actually using it on less and less cars now.

There was always a Step option from the get go; get Step with the Sports package, and you get shift paddles too. BMW would be stupid to not offer Step on their bread and butter car.

Its a twin turbo, 6 cylinder engine which means 3 cylinders per turbo.

I'm not questioning the math involved, I'm questioning whether each one is literally dedicated to 3 cylinders? I thought they were sequential turbos, both powering all 6 cylinders?

No, look at the photos of the motor posted by E90fleet a month or so back. They are bilateral separate turbos, not sequential. The 335d may have a sequential bi-turbo.

Each turbo is small and driven by only 3 cylinders but, the car only has one intercooler and one intake plenum. Therefore each turbo can't be "serving" 3 cylinders. Their compressed air is mixing in the intercooler. Right? Or am I missing something here?

We are going to have every scrap of info pieced together and still no damn price on the thing. It feels like people will be driving them and we still won't know what they cost, the dealer will just bill us later.
