Congrats on the Cooper S ‘vert!! What a fun car!! And the perfect size for your garage! Great choice!! What are your thoughts on getting the kids into it? I can’t remember if I told you this. Something that surprised me when I moved to Chicago was how many top down convertibles I saw driving around……during the day no less!! Because you can do that during a summer day in Chicago! No one drives a convertible top down during a summer day in Texas. You can only drive top down in the early morning or late evening after enough time has passed for the day to start cooling down.

I agree with your assessment of the Kona Limited. Not bad, but not great. A very good choice for a non-car person looking for a small SUV, but not for someone who looks at driving as a fun experience. And I also agree with your assessment of the dealership. Very Walmart like. As AlpineBoost mentioned a lot of their dealerships are undergoing renovations right now.

Thanks!

I'm not going to lie, and almost don't like to fully admit it, but the mini was very fun to drive. As for thr kids sitting in back, shouldn't be an issue. We had my daughter along with for the test drives... and me, my wife, daughter, and sales person were all able to fit with relative comfort. Not only did my daughter feel comfortable in it, she absolutely loved sitting in it.

That being said, we won't be taking it on any long trips and likely won't ever drive it when going anywhere as a family (at least until my 1 year old transitions to a front facing carseat since the rear facing ones take up a ton of room) But for taking my daughter to school it's more than adequate. I'm very happy with the size of the car

I look forward to reading your thoughts and opinions on it! MINIs are on the short list for my daughter. Needs to be a 2L with MT and sport seats. Could be a Cooper 4 door, but preferably a Clubman (I dig the barn doors). Found this one locally, but it's a bit more than what I want to put out right now: https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/...648566826.html

Better handling than your M3? I assume for sure vs your X7. (I know nothing about all 3 vehicles though hahah.)

That looks real nice! Wish I could do MT but that would defeat half the purpose of getting this 3rd car to begin with.

It handles tight parking spots better than my m3 I'll give it that

The X7 has the dynamic handling package... so it's no slouch in the corners. Highly doubt it'll handle as good as a tiny 3,000 lb car... but it handles way better than a large 3 row SUV has any business handling.

Probably m3>mini>x7... can't really put a huge SUV over a tiny car.

A mini convertible - amazing result to this thread. I somehow feel catfished into remembering this brand existed...and of course it's owned by BMW. Someone should pay you a commission!

Well guys.... it's finally here. And I even took my B48, B58, S58 picture. Never imagined this to be the outcome when I first considered getting a 3rd car... but here we are. I also never expected the Mini to be so much fun to drive.

Next time park it right in front of the M4 so we can't see it's head.

Love the mini, very cool choice to go with something different. Glad you went convertible, it made no sense to have three cars and nothing to really differentiate them, the vert really adds something to the experience, especially if u add an exhaust

Yeah I'm having a blast with the mini so far - almost more than I'd like to admit. But please don't give me ideas on mods... I'm weak and easily persuaded when it comes to that topic. Still need an exhaust for my M3....

Honestly I'd consider doing the mini first, open top with a nice exhaust is a great experience, you change down in an underpass for fun. I think you and mrs will use that Mini more than you think.

Can you take a few more photos of the interior, especially back seat with the front in the position you drive in.

Awesome pic! The Mini looks like a fun little car (I have driven older Minis and remember them as quite fun).

Mini needs to get you a commission of some sort because I am suddenly pricing them out on the website; would make a great city car

Here you are. I'm just under 5'10" so I don't take up too much space. Doesn't look like much in the pictures, but my daughter was very comfortable on the 2 hour drive home from the dealership. That being said, I don't imagine us taking long trips in this car.

My son who's one and a half will have to wait until he transitions into a front facing car seat in a few months before all 4 of us can ride in it together.

Such a cool car!
Where we live, it’s a bit dangerous having such a small car unless we stay off the highway. Shame they don’t offer a manual transmission anymore.

Honestly as skeptical as I was going into this whole ordeal.... I've come away a Mini fan. I love how small it is and how nimble it feels. Plus it helps that it's got that B48 motor to motivate it. So glad I went this route over things like the Hyundai Kona or Chevy Bolt.

Oh but they do offer a manual still. My only reason for not optioning the manual is because that would defeat one of the original reasons for getting this 3rd car - my wife is unable to drive manual and thus unable to drive my M3. So if I ever need to take the big X7 out, she'd be stranded at home.

I did drive it 2 hours on the highway bringing it home from the dealer, I didn't find it to be dangerous at all.
