Having seen it in person, I disagree. In the light or the shade, it does not look bright like a typical silver. Next to white, it definitely looks gray.

With the 2020 M2C coming next year, do you have any personal opinions of what changes could possibly be made for the last iteration in the F87?

I'm going to guess they'll just lazily just make some minor, minor adjustments to the rear lights and call it a day.

I'm hoping they'll ditch the blue/orange seats or add all-black as an option. Possibly HUD? Any chance that between now and the 2020 production that the factory could get some new paints?
No changes needed... I do not see a facelift coming anymore. This is it.

That is good news for M2C buyers. Our cars should be "new" until at least 9/2022 when the potential M2? could be released.

Let's discuss the BMW "M2 CS" rumor: will there be a hardcore M2 variant 2019/2020 ? https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1228342

Is that a real question? Like the M3/M4 CS, CS will be overpriced badge.

Hi MR,

These are the standard wheels? They are growing on me - did they look more gunmetal than a silver finish in person?

Cheers,

Exactly. A CSL might have come close if it ever existed but that 718 platform is light years ahead of the current 2 series in terms of driving dynamics.

The Cayman for sure. One is an overweight sports coupe.. the other one is a sports car... no matter what motor it comes with.

I am certainly inclined to agree... I think an M2 CS will lose a very slight amount of weight due to a potential factory installed roof and a few other lighter bits that have been made available... perhaps some door panels and single zone AC.. However.. when it is saddled with DCT only like the other CS models.. then it will likely weigh not more than 50 lbs less than an M2C or M4 and it will simply be an overpriced model.

Agree here as well when it comes to a track machine. Even if BMW were to focus on light weight and throw the kitchen sink at an M2 CSL.. it will be at least 200 lbs heavier than a Cayman.

To be honest however.. that's ok for me. The Porsche is a 2 seater that is completely impractical.. It would need to be driven to the track on R type tires or trailered.. whereas an M2 CS would have room for wheels and tires inside it.

CSL would probably be 90-100k and at that point go buy a Porsche IMO.

Beauty of the M2 comp is its still in the 50s price wise. Hardly more than a Mustang GT.

you car is no longer NEW the moment you drive it off the lot.

M2 LCI buyers thought their car would last longer than one year and got a shock..

if you buy an M2 COMP hoping it will have a significant shelf life... you are likely to similarly be disappointed.

Having the car moving changes everything for sure. I just sometimes feel people here are forgetting about this?

This is how alloy polished wheels look while actualy being used

MR.,

Next time you are in the company of BMW could you please inquire about the 788M wheels, specifically regarding the color options? There's a lot of confusion around Code: 29U, which are the "black" wheels (See here: Black 788M Photoshop(s)).

Are the wheels (Code: 29U) all black including the wheel face or does the wheels face have a different finish?

Good question! I have not seen the wheels yet and nobody has been able to show them to me yet. Every wheel I have seen is the silver one.

Let's see what they have for us at the press drive.
