Coding: Remove Automatic shift down when going in manual drive mode

Hello,

has anyone removed the automatic shift down of one or two gears when switching in to the manual shift mode?
Each time I put the gearshift to the left to drive manually the gearbox shifts one or two gears down.

I have Bimmer code but not found the right setting yet

This is a really good question. I never thought about coding it out. I really hate that it drops gear and revs the engine. I usually just pull a paddle then move the shifter.

Useful, but is there any verifiable evidence that this can be done?

Flipping the stick to the left sets the gearbox into Sport mode, that downshift is essentially what you are asking for by moving the stick.

As Manboy said, you just need to reverse the order.

Accelerate and "beat" the 'box to the next upshift by pulling the paddle/stick to +.
That puts the gearbox into manual mode, temporarily. If you then move the stick to the left, you're locked into Manual mode.

Easy, not worth re-coding for.

Also, if you do have the paddles, pulling and holding the Plus will revert from Manual to Sport Mode.

Pulling and holding the Minus will engage the lowest possible gear.

Jup, basically what Setright said. I just pull on one of the pedals shortly before i switch the gearbox into sport, it locks in manual right away.
