Folks,

I took the 2022 BMW M235I X drive to the dragstrip. I ran it 19 times. The conditions were not favorable: 3100 feet elevation, headwind, 21lbs of yours truly, more than 3/4 gas tank and absolutely no weight reduction. DA of 4700 feet according to dragtimes DA calculator

The 60' were mediocre, only once I hit 1.8 sec and literally 95% of the times I was deep in the mid 1.9 sec which i find it mediocre. The front wheels spins like crazy no matter if you use the traction in sport or completely off.

The car does build good boost on the luanch but the FWD bias doesn't help. I chrirped the front tires on the 1-2 shift EVERYTIME. the shifting is great, I was crossing the line in 4th to 5th, sometimes in 5th. I like to keep pressing the gas for another 100feet pass the marks because it gives you the average sped of the last 20 meters.

Overall , I am very impressed, i ran a 13.02, a 13.03, a 13.04 a 13.05 and a few 13.1 with half a dozen 105+ mph This car can run a high 12's at sea level and probably trap 107-108 in a cold winter at sea level. I was running at low 60s and later at low 50's degrees.

The Torsen Front LSD did not really helped much. This AWD system feels weak in my opinion and this is coming from a guy that owned 26 AWD sports cars. For instance, an S3 that i had 7 years ago would rip 1.7 withouth breaking a sweat and it was a FWD biased haldex and no front LSD.

Overall, I am very happy. Below are some pictures from last night. Let's start a database on 1/4 mile.

Sounds like fun, not sure if I'd like to stress my car like that though. I guess an S3 seven years ago would probably be much lighter than a current M235i..

The S3 that I had was a US spec sedan S3(a 2015 model) with the bigger 19" factory wheels. The weight was in the low 3400 lbs with very little gas and 80lbs of weight reduction(I documented everything on the audizine forum).

The scales weren't connected yesterday neither last week when I was racing again on a Friday. manufacturer says around 3600lbs on the BMW 235i x drive. The roof must be heavy , my particular car has the panoramic glass roof that reaches the back seat as well.

I have to mention that I ran 91oct gas known in america southwest as ACN(Arizona, California, nevada 91oct gas) and I added 1.5 galons of ethanol(E-85 blend confirmed).

Your times match up with the times from BMW at least. And yeah it is annoying how heavy the car is.. the AWD system doesn't help with that too much.
