It's not bullshit but indeed really is veritable. Bimmian had such mods forever. Whoops, now that I mentioned Bimmian, all these E90 fanatics will actually mod their rides with Bimmian mods! Oh, no! I'm supposed to be the only one with colored roundels!
Back to the main topic - the difference between "xenon" interior and the normal bulbs really isn't about "brighter" lighting although some may construe the modded lighting to be subjctively brighter. The disparity rests in the color of the bulb - while the stock OEM interior bulbs give off an incandescent/yellowish/amber light, the aftermarket interior bulbs give off a rather neutral, white/blue light. It adds a sense of customization for those repine for some. |

True xenon lights bulbs do not have filaments, and they can only work with ballasts. I think this is a little overkill, and I find it hard to believe a true interior HID lighting system exists...maybe "HID" halogen bulbs, but that's it.

That's exactly why I said there is no increase in brightness.
They simply branded these aftermarket bulbs as "xenons" simply because they give off colored light similar to those of coeval xenon project headlamps. |

Adaptive xenon interior lights. That's what we need.

You people are just so funny!
If anyone wants bright lighting inside their car, why not try & get hold of a lighthouse bulb & wire it up to a second battery?! |

I have installed those "xenon" interior lights. They are not real xenon lights, but they produce nice, xenon like color instead of original yellow and they are matching to the LED lights in the door handles. Installation was very easy, all process took me 15 min. Also, they are not brighter than original bulbs (central dome light actually looks dimmer)
