My attitude with the maps update is to alternate it: buy it for a year and then leave it a year. I do use the BMW nav but don't think there will be that many changes to the roads in a year and I can just muddle through if I do find myself off course.

Realised that my services expired a few weeks ago (as half the app icons disappeared)
I only really used the inbuilt satnav because of the enhanced directions on the hud and dash - I will give Apple Maps a go as that has at least some support for the HUD. |

Map Updates every second year makes sense to me, but I will end up paying for Connected Booster, mainly because I HATE using a mobile phone for anything, so if I can aviod using the bloody thing, and still have functionality in the car, that's the option I'll choose.

Mine expired recently. The only difference to me is that I’ve lost real time traffic information but I’ve switched over to Apple Maps now.
I have a service plan and I saw that it includes 1 map update which I’ll presumably get when it goes in for its next service (January next year). |

My Connected Drive package that came with the car expired on the 11th. I've not bothered to renew to the Connected Booster package yet, and so Spotify and the Amazon Alexa app have disappeared from ID7, as expected, but so far anyway, my Climate Control rules are still there. I hope it stays that way!
