I love CA!
Was sort of nervous about it because of the "I am disappointed with CA" thread on this forum a week or two back. But, I have to say, that this is one of my favorite features of my E91. For me, it has worked every single time (and worked well). Its just such a cool bit of technology - don't know how I could ever go back to a car without it.

Sometimes it's needed. I drove to the top of Sandia Peak (Albuquerque, NM). Fun drive, but there's a bunch of radio and television towers at the top. CA didn't work up there, nor did the buttons on the key fob. So I had to use the key to lock and unlock.
Also, the EM at the top reset all the options, including the radio stations, back to factory defaults. Weird. I'll never drive up there again with my BMW. Anyway, overall, I love CA also.

I find it so old-fashioned when I have to drive a car that requires, ahem, a key. More and more manufacturers are adopting keyless operation although I question why Nissan's designers require me to turn a make-believe keyslot on the steering column in several cars as opposed to a pressing a start button.

My MB has CA only they call it Keyless Go. They're assuming the car starts every time. My MB has KG. Yo, your BMW has CA. Anybody know what Audi calls it? |

I love CA too. I have become quite used to touching the door handle to unlock, and just getting in and pressing the start button. I had to move a friend's car the other day, and pressing the remote to unlock the door, and then actually having to insert the key and turn it to start the engine was just so.... old fashioned!! I am truly spoiled.

No but I've tried to unlock or start multiple cars that don't have CA without a key

Quick question.......even with CA, the car still does have a keyhole on the driver side door.
Does the valet key that comes with FOB open the driver side door? Otherwise, what key would you use since you only get two FOBs and no other key? |

There is a key built into the CA fob.
